Just posting a potential trade idea to move up to the Bucs draft spot to get Eric Berry. I dont think anyone on this board would NOT want Eric Berry playing FS for us(Yeah he hasnt proven anything in the NFL but he is one of the most prepared college players I have seen) This is just for fun, Clemons might very well be the future.

This is *IF* we picked up Dansby in FA

I went on the Tampa site and read some weaknesses with the Bucs so I just addressed those. Asterik marks weakness.

To Tampa: Our 1st & 3rd & 2011 3rd
Ted Ginn *No Offensive Speed*
Will Allen *Secondary is too young* *No Defensive Depth* *Tackling*

To Miami: Bucs 1st

Tampa would be moving back 9 spots and they would still be able to get a VERY good quality player to fill one of their many needs while picking up 1 good vet to play in the secondary and a pretty good tackler in Will Allen.

Ginn would give them that speed guy to help open things up a bit on Offense. he would do much better if he wasnt being double teamed over the top. If they did double team him it would open things up for Stroughter&Winslow&Bryant(if he stays)They are not looking for a huge offensive weapon, just someone with wheels. He also gives them a really good KR/PR.

They also get the additional 3rd(another pick the Bucs could use to rebuild), and another 3rd for next year to add to the rebuild process.

I would take this trade if we got Dansby because I feel a fast, ballhawk, coverage safety is the biggest missing piece to this defense. Berry is exactly that and is considered one of the smartest players coming into the NFL. We would then be able to Cut G.Wilson OR Y. Bell , team channing with Dansby, and have Bell/Wilson next to Berry with Smith and Davis at the corners. With our 2nd round pick we could take a WR. Lets JP & JT stick around another year, if Porter stays healthy he still can be a valuable player and JT can give us another solid year too.Other option is to address OLB in FA(Dumervil, etc, etc). NT would be the one big concern but we could just rotate Ferg&Solai and take a project guy in the 4th-7th rounds.

What do you guys think, to much Madden?:crazy:But I would seriously like to know if you guys would approve to a trade like this and if its realistic. And would that be a good enough Defense for next year? :thanks:

Too complicated imo. 2 firsts should do the trick.

We would not need the Bucs pick to get Berry. We could get Berry with KC's pick.

The cost could be something like Paul Soliai and our 2nd to trade places.

oh man the thought of berry in a fins uni, i am getting to excited

Yeah, I mean I think he is the best player in the draft and I have scouted him more then anyone. I also think he is a man who steps in and instantly upgrades that secondary. If KC is on the board and Berry is there I would love to move up to grab him.

It is just not the philosophy of this front office to give away picks to move up. Plus Earl Thomas is a damn good FS prospect, and more than likely wouldn't cost us anything because he should be available at 12.

Similar to the other thread, we are giving up FIVE players for 1 unproven special talent. I mean I know people feel Ginn and Allen are disposable, but still no reason to fall in love with any player and give up that kind of depth.

Thomas at the moment is projected to go from around the 15-20 range (from what Ive seen in most mocks). Only team I can see picking Thomas behind Miami at the moment is the Steelers at 18 (Giants maybe at 15). If Thomas is the guy for the Front Office, could you see us trading back, or would it be too risky?

I mean it is too early to project right now . . . what if Thomas runs a 4.3 and wrecks shop in the DB drills . . . he is a top 10 pick. He was better than Berry this year.

If he is rated 15-20, I think trading back is a real possibility . . . we don't have a 5th due to the Thigpen trade, this front office wants to get that back and more. If Bradford or Clausen slips to us, I could see a team wanting to dance that needs a QB.

Will Allen is probaly on his way out, I would be surprised to see a corner like him sit behind Sean Smith and Vontae Davis.

And Ted Ginn . . . Enough said.

I basically gave Tampa a few needs and that 3rd round pick.

Berry is just a dream. Watch his film, its ridiculous. He is possibly going top 3.

I would LOVE to get Earl Thomas, he might have ended up being an even better player then Berry. The only thing I dont like is he is a big prospect and isnt at the level of Eric Berry, it would also be a pretty good reach at #12.

Trading down would be our best option in this draft especially if we could get a 2nd round pick. So if we trade down, im all for Earl Thomas.

By the way, seeing this worried me a bit lol
