There's been noise lately about Saban's ability to draft. Thought I'd start a poll to see if he's scouting abilities outweighed his departure from Miami...Thoughts?
 
The man is a traitor. Prior to this whole fiasco, maybe. But now, i wouldnt be surprised if he eats non-dolphin safe tuna
 
The jury is still out on his drafting prowess with us. Allen is still a question, Alabi, Toledo, haven't been on the field, Evans and Rod Wright seem to have some potential, but it's still untapped or at least untapped enough for us to draft another DT in the 4th round. Manny Wright is gone and didn't work out (either physically or philosophically)...Daniels, after a good rookie campaign, petered off last year, albeit possibly due to the ankle, Hagan has been spotty and inconsistent. Hadnot and Crowder look like keepers, although the rookie crop of OL right now look to have more going for them than even Hadnot..

You tell me...just how good of a 'scout' has he been for us ???

Nothing outweighs his departure from Miami...

Saban is to loyalty as his wife is to pretty

The only real reason sabans drafting looks good is the bums before him looked pathetic. Wanstache is a douche
 
While Saban out drafted Wannstedt/Spielman, I'm happy having Randy Mueller do our drafting, this last draft may end up being one of the best ever.
 
I would love to put Saban in the bag that the DL hit everyday. Other than that I have not respect for a man that says one thing only to do the COMPLETE opposite.

i havent seen anything that wrong with the guys he drafted i think its still a little too early to judge i hope they pan out for the sake of the team being good jason allen well see what he can do this year hopefully he gets his head out of his a** and dominates
 
voted yes, sure he left us high and dry, but he has shown in a short time to get talented guys in a short tenure. Something were not used to, and legit starters at a lot of positions including making our defense younger.

Although i never see it happening. if he decided he just wanted to head up a scouting program, i'd be in for it. if he's good at it he's good at it.
 
The jury is still out on alot of his picks so i don't know yet. Ronnie Brown has faired pretty well but up to this point has not lived up to the number 2 pick. Matt Roth looks like he could be a good pick, we will be able to tell more this year. Crowder has been pretty good thus far so i'll give him that one. Daniels played well as a rookie but we will have a better idea this year to tell how good he is/going to be. All of his other picks have not seen the field nor have made an impact as of yet but the one pick he might have blown was the J.Allen.
 
I am not to sure I would say he is a stud at drafting YET.....

I mean how many of his players have done something great.....

To me there is a good amount of that word "Potential" but at the same time that is all there may be.
 
This could very well be one of our best Drafts ever (Even better then 05), and we did it without Saban.....why the heck would we want someone as untrustworthy as him helping us?
