UGLY, TERRIBLE, GUT WRENCHING, SICKENING!

This was my experience today at Landshark stadium. First, let me say I have been a Dolphins fan since birth and am 21 years old. My mood for the week is heavily influenced on how my Finz play on Sunday. I have always loved this team and usually thoroughly enjoy going down south to the games at our stadium.

Today a group of good friends decided to go down and find some tickets to support our team. Had a good tailgate going, got a good buzz, found tickets and entered Landshark. We sat next to our friends who had season tickets around the 45-50 yard line about 20 rows up! great seats in the lower level. THIS STADIUM LOOKED LIKE JACKSONVILLE! HALF FULL and even worse after halftime. It looked like a high school football crowd. RIDICULOUS!! no one in a visible radius of us looked to have any energy, just sat in their seats with a stupid look on their faces even before we started losing. no support, YOU ARE PAYING CUSTOMERS! HAVE FUN, LOOK ALIVE FOR CHRIST SAKE!! had a few people that we encouraged to start cheering but for the most part I HAVE LOST ALL RESPECT FOR OUR FAN-BASE.

WE NEED TO MOVE THIS STADIUM NORTH AND BUILD A REAL FOOTBALL STADIUM. how about something like the orange bowl, where real fans rooted on our Miami Dolphins. It looked like a bunch of tourists at the stadium today who said "Hey, heard there's a football game today in Miami, lets check it out." I have never been more disappointed in our team and our fans.

OUR TEAM - NO ENERGY IN THE FIRST HALF, NO EFFORT, LOOKED LIKE A TEAM WITH NO CHANCE TO GO TO THE POST-SEASON. if we would have won any of the games the last 3 weeks, we'd be in perfect position for a wild card spot. WHERE'S OUR LEADERSHIP?!?! this is DO OR DIE PEOPLE! and we rolled over a died. Made a good attempt at a comeback after the half but JESUS CHRIST!! i wouldnt mind if we lost as long as we gave 100% on each play and i know for a fact we didnt. we looked flat footed out of the gate, no momentum, no organization, nothing. EMBARASSING!! PLEASE WHY CAN'T YOU PUT SOME EFFORT IN, HIT HARD, RUN FAST, ACT LIKE THIS IS THE LAST GAME YOU WILL PLAY. I always argue with people when they say college football is better cuz of **** we witnessed today, and I start to agree with their position when our players just walk thru half the game. GIVE ALL YOU GOT, and if you don't win, so be it! but to come out like we did in the first half MAKES ME SICK!! When the stadium is half full and the fan support is as weak as it was, I can kind of understand why our players wouldn't be pumped up. The crowd was barely a low hum throughout the game. Partly because of a badly designed stadium, low attendance, and low energy from us fans who actually did show up. This is no excuse though. Our team is made of grown men, getting paid millions of dollars to play a ****ing game! PLAY YOUR ***** OFF AND SHOW SOME SELF RESPECT!!
don't even get me started on the refs...

if you actually read this entire rant, I thank you and will enjoy reading your responses.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO CHANGE IN SOUTH FLORIDA! New stadium, huge front office/management changes, new coaches?

Didn't read your post but was wondering... do you puke on yourself a lot...?

At what point in the season did you realize we don't have the horses yet...?

Really? On tv there were pretty loud chants in the 2nd half and it got loud at times. you cant blame the quiet crowd in the 1st half, they had nothing to cheer for, only boo.

I was kind of surprised to see the half empty crowd to start the game, but as time went on I understood why. Miami fans have gotten used to these kinds of late season games and wised up. When the product on the field is actually worth a damn, maybe you'll see more fans show up.

please go post at the january 10, 2010 thread. i am saying the same things man its pathetic. mods merge please

We have been looking for that CHANGE for at least 25 years. I used to get really upset like it appears you are but I have just realized that it isn't worth it anymore to get mad about it. Once you get to that point of "numbness" it makes it MUCH easier to sleep at night.

on a more serious note . i have been saying this a long time. if the dolphins moved to orlando, they would be like the packers as far as finding tix impossible. all of the real fans are far as attendance are in central/north florida. people down south have taken the fins for granted. us folks up north wouldnt do that

exactly what i said in the other thread.

Well, to be fair, the Dolphins haven't been really good in over a decade now. That alone is embarrassing enough in itself. Although, maybe it was just me but I thought the crowd noise was pretty well received through the tube, especially considering we were being walked all over. There were some loud "Lets go Dolphins" and "Ref you suck chants"(I'm guessing those fans have attended some Miami Heat games)

yeah and whats with the booing? ill boo at refs when they make bad calls, but booing at our team just makes it worse, no logical reason to boo the team you support.

Maybe they amplified it on TV, but the potential we have as a crowd was not reached by any means. I've been to many dolphins game and this was one of the worst in measuring crowd noise & energy, except for at the end of the game when we started making a run for it. but then the refs remembered they had money riding on the game and stole that energy too

I don't doubt it. But unfortunately I don't see anything that can be feasibly done about it. The best thing is for more people to make the effort to travel to home games, and get as many rowdy fans in the crowd as possible, and for them to encourage the hand-sitters to get up and get loud.

The Orlando Orcas...I like that. But if you gave Orlando a professional team, then Tampa Bay would want one.
