I am more worried then I am a hater. In fact my first thought when they named him 2pick for dolphins is wild cat and it sound great then thought about his size got me worried. that passed then ota's came and Pat white did have trouble. Better to know these things now then later and still i think he can be counted for when it counts, but he will not as consistent as Chad p and Henne. You bet your A** i want him good hell every player and coach that has came to miami I wanted them to be F***ing amazing, but like the sh**ie Qb's we had before Chad p. and After Dan, i am not giving PW any slack for failure. Either you can do it or you cant. :whack:

i want him to do awesome too, but i just cant help the feeling he will end up being a wasted pick, i hope im wrong

Pat white started all 4 years in a big college, 64 completion rat,and little to no INT., and almost 1000 rushing yards per year. He is made for the wild cat, an accurate QB who can run like hell. The only reason he didnt get tons and tons of yards was because of the system they ran at WV, guy barely had any pass attempts. He was a solid QB regardless of what we initially drafted him for. He is a great pick for our system and will be a very good back up QB for Henne.

I know this is related to the thread on the ESPN board, but I also hope I'm wrong when I say that I think this will end up being a bad selection.

Do not get me wrong he was the Sh** in college but I will not be surprise if he does not do well.he wouldn't be the first incredible player to transition to the Nfl and not do so well.

he took advantage of every situation he had in college, I think as long as he knows he isnt the starter and he knows he only gets a limited 5-10 snaps a game he will take every situation he has and make the most of of it in the NFL..

That's true do not care if Pat does not do well at all in training camp and even messes up most of his snaps. but if for the games seem impossible for us to win his snaps are successful I will be happy. Plus it is his fist year and there is always room for improvement, how he is a great athlete, and a have a great personally that follows everyone character on the team, he should be successful.:hi5:

Pat White was one of the best college players i have ever seen. He turned WV around completely and made a bunch of crazy highlights doing it. Do you remember how much hype Rich Rodriguez had going into that Michigan job? You can thank a good team, but a Pat White led team nonetheless.

If you watched his games in college. He plays very similar to the way Vick played in the NFL. Now, I'm not saying White is gonna be like Vick, the NFL game is much faster than the college game. But it always seemed like White was the fastest player on the field when playing. He has great game speed that goes underrated because of a poor 40 time at the combine.

If he gets on the field in the right situation, I think he can bring that Wow factor back to Dolphins football. Now he might not be great, but I have a feeling the Wildcat will make quite a few of Top 10's on SportsCenter this season. Just watch.

He's a gimmick player because of this. Nothing more.

if hes a wasted pick im assuming that means that henne does good, if this is the case.. I dont care that we wasted another 2nd round pick, atleast than the qb situation is finally solved, obviously either henne or pat whites pick will end up to be a wasted pick... but why all the hate on pat and not chad?

It's a wasted pick because of the needs we had at other positions, not because of Pat White's play as QB. Unless of course he turns out to be the second coming of Warren Moon, who ran the Run & Shoot/Spread offense better than anyone. You don't have to be a Pat White "hater" to see that. I don't even see White seeing legitimate time at QB to be honest, not outside of those Spread formations, like he ran in college, formations that aren't going to work as a base offense in the NFL.

why doesnt anyone ever compare pat to white people lol
like Doug Flutie

You can, all the QB's that ran the same offense and had excellent success for at Texas Tech and Navy to my knowledge haven't done anything significant in the NFL. Kyle Orton and Drew Brees ran it at Purdue, both are white, one is terrible. Brees i haven't seen run it at an NFL level either, but he's just plain good.

Orton is terrible??? Well see this year i guess now that he has a good line, But not many Qb's Run the same offense they did in college as the Nfl..

No because collegiate offenses don't usually translate well to the NFL. Which is why i'm skeptical of these QB's from colleges with exotic offenses because they often get inflated numbers and excessive hype without any exposure to what actually works in the NFL. For me it's a wait and see situation with Pat White, which is why i didn't like the pick.
