You turn on the radio talk shows, come on this board, talk to someone at work and when they mention Pep they always say well he had Randy Moss. I am watching the Raiders game now and it is painful to see Randy out there. Aaron Brooks cannot get him the ball. Moss is running 5-7 yard hitches and in's and not making much of it. Brooks is supposed to play to Moss's strengths...deep passer with a strong arm. Its not enough to

Culpepper and Moss were linked in their success like many qb/wr tandems. I hope all the Culpepper needs Moss talks stop. At the end of this season, I have a feeling #8 will look alot better without Moss than the other way around.

i know it is getting very old, daunte last year was struggling not because of not having moss, he tried to do everything himself, no running game, no recievers to speak of, look it how he got hurt, he tried to make a big play when the defense was right in his face

daunte made his own greatness

Then how did Brad Johnson take that same team to the playoffs? Magic?

There is one guy that seems to be always left out of this discussion.. Scott Linehan. Linehan has a lot to do with the success of the Moss/Culpepper tandem, just like he had much to do with the Frerotte/Chambers combo that picked up at the end of last season.

moss/culpepper

I'm sure Dante couldn't get Moss the ball behind Oakland O line. They look sorry.:dolphins: :dolphins:

Y i think Moss aint puttin up stats lik he did before, Yeah baby Culpepper made moss

brad johnson did not get them to the playoffs, he lost his final game against an actual quality opponent and they missed it. The real challenge will be when the vikes actually beat a good opponent. And no the redskins are not quality they are horrible. Linehan helped both out, but I will say this daunte in his games without moss the last 3 years looks better than randy without daunte the last 2 years.

i agree, moss has done absolutely nothing with oakland, daunte has an injury last year

this will be the year to see what he does, he was doing very good against pit but stumbled in the 4th it happens

people who say moss made daunte are ******ed, daunte made moss also, they were a lethal combo, but if you put chambers in daunte and him will have the same combo

It wasn't magic but it was close.. Take a look, and the Vikings had an unbelieveably easy schedule as soon as Johnson came in to QB last season. How come people dont mention that ??

. Not only that, but Birk (all-pro center) got hurt right when Culpepper's play dropped off.. Nobody mentions that but many Minnesota people say the second they lost their all-pro center C-pep's play went downhill last year .

With all that said, Moss is very unhappy in Oakland and is starting to talk to the media about it.. I wonder if he requests a trade to be re-united with C-pep ? What about Moss, Chambers as wideouts ? Do you think that'll open up the running game for Ronnie ? hmm

Jimmy Johnson was stupid not to draft Randy Moss. What was he thinking ?? I remember how pissed I was at him on draft day when he had the chance to get him .. Probably could have added a year or two to Marino's career

Not trying to trash talk but you do realize Culpepper's stats without Moss don't you? 6 tds, 14 ints and 2-6 record. Moss still had 1,000 yards and 8 tds on a pulled groin for half the year. Also as evidence by tonight, Oakland is a big mess.

So I agree than Culpepper is a better QB than Collins and Brooks (who is god awful), but he still has a lot to prove without a HOF wr (two actually if you count Cris Carter). Hopefully, he won't start this Sunday.

didnt jj say something like he passed on randy because of a drug rumor about crack or something? i thought i heard this in a interview with espn

as for reuniting i dont think so, i mean it would be awesome to have chris/randy/marty/mcmichael

Does that record include 2004?

Well if your not trying to trash talk at least get your facts straight.. Moss was out of the lineup quite a bit 3 years ago and Culpepper had a new target (Nate Burleson) and they tore up the league (WITHOUT Moss in the Vikings lineup) .

Moss only missed 3 games. Healthy or not, teams have to respect Moss on the field.

He was a highly productive QB. But Moss is arguably one of the best wide receivers to play this game. Other QBs like George and Cunningham were extremely productive in that system.

Additionally, Linehan was a great offfensive coordinator and he played a major part in C-pep's struggles. MM, as you will find out, isn't in the same league as SL. But you guys do have some great weapons there, so he definitely has a good opportunity. However, I don't think either him or Moss will ever match their past productivity. :cooldude:
