How bad can you screw up a 17 point lead?

Oh I know, don't do any of the things you did in the first half. That was pathetic defensive play calling. He constantly ran man coverage against 4WR/5WR/3WR1TE sets. The packers don't have good enough nickel and dime backs to do that. That was absolutely pathetic. Daunte looked like a deer caught in the headlights whenever the blitz was sent. Then in the second half he (Jim Bates) just stopped sending the blitz.

I can't wait to hear about how Daunte is back and how the Vikings perservered against all the commotion and came back to win the game. The Vikings game balls should go to Jim Bates Mike Sherman and Ryan Longwell.

Jim Bates taught the Packers how to overpersue and miss tackles. He gave them the cream puff coverages throughout the entire game. Most of all he had a gameplan that was working and he just stopped doing it. If it wasn't for Jim Bates, Ryan Longwell and probably some blame to Mike Sherman the Viks would have never come back and won that game.

PS Why does Donald Lee have hands of glue now that he is on Green Bay. The guy didn't drop one ball.

While it was mostly Green Bay's defense's fault, Jim Bates wasn't the blame in my honest opinion... I could've sworn I heard the announcers say Green Bay's D was ranked 10th this year... I was in shock.

I was never a big fan of Wanny and Bates defense play calling. Yes we had high ranking defenses but they played soft when it mattered and choked routinely. They coach scared.

I think Bates is a great Defensive coach and if Green Bay picked up some talent he wouldn't look so bad in these kind of games. He doesn't have the talent to call a lot of plays so when he gets burned i believe it is because he doesn't have a huge play selection.

this game reminded me so much of a Dolphins game from the Wanny era. I loved Jim when he took over as interm but I am starting to see now that he might have been apart of the problem. It was the same old crap. Play straight man coverage with two safties deep when it is obviously not working. It drove me nuts to see them line up in a 5 WR situation and say out loud "Alright here we go stop the QB Draw" then you see Daunt draw and he is untouched. I knew it was coming, everyone knew it was coming. Even the announcers mentioned it a couple of times. But they never played for it.

That game should remind you of the Dolphins. Remember when Anderson drilled a 100 yarder to beat us in the dome 2 or 3 years ago in a game that if we won we would have gone to the playoffs (we lost to New England the next week and the Jets won the division, oh the pain of that day)!
