OK this is not a crack or Sparano or CP they have both been very good for us. Nor is it saying we missed on the Long pick this is me venting.

But with Sanchez managing up in NYC and making some key throws and with Ryan in ATL making them a perennial contender and Flacco up in Baltimore doing the same thing. It just frustrates me that we dont take more chances PERIOD....

we play stuff waaaay to close to the vest....if a team has 9 in the box and is playing 10 yards off Ginn and Bess we of course run it into the teeth of the opposing D. Why???? is it because Penny's MO is short dinks and dunks maybe or maybe teams know regardless of our QB we wont take chances.

Penny has the brains and the accuracy to pick apart 1on1 coverage and Henne has the arm and the ability to throw on the run to make any throw needed but we rarely use it.

How long does Penny get this season I DONT KNOW...he has EARNED time and will get this season if he wins.

But with the success of the rest of the young QB's and seeing Henne's upside and DONT say Henne is a bust or will suck he has played one drive in the NFL and lead a TD drive pretty good in my opinion...and in the preseason he had some good and bad all young guys have good and bad.....

I just want us to take more chances and if the offense stays stagnant then we may need to make a change........I know this is how this team was built but you need to break the mold and finally pull the trigger sometimes.

i have to agree. it is discouraging to see the other young QB's do well. and it does seem like we play it safe a lot.
 
I mean throw it more...bring in Henne.....do more play action CP is nasty at play action....the steelers ran the ball for 40 years and are now a pass oriented team something needs to change or we will have another great D and an average O

As for PA.....accoring to the beat writers, Henne has an amazing PA fake.
 
Remember this though. No matter who we put behind the center, no one will flourish if our o-line doesn't give them enough time to look down the field. It all starts with the o-line. If the big guys up front don't get it together soon, we are in for a very long season.

I will agree with you though, I too am tired of watching other teams execute all day long while we seem to have to resort to weird motion based plays in hopes of tricking a defense for some kind of a gain.

IMO, while it is mathematically irrelevant concerning the playoffs after week 2, this is a do or die game for our confidence and one that I fear we MUST win, especially at home.

Awesome...we need to do something.....you can say we are smashmouth...but IMO you need to get R&R more than 12 touches and if you are balanced that doesnt mean ronnie ricky cobbs and ginn all get the same # of carries it just means play balance....im just tired of other teams pulling the trigger on a big decision and we sit back and have a "future franchise qb" who is learning with a clipboard while every other one is out dodging bullets.

we are throwing a rat into the snake pit.....WE NEED TO THROW IN OUR OWN SNAKE AND LET HIM CRAWL AROUND
 
IMO the run game will not work until you can force DB's to keep their eyes out of the backfield....

Thomas Jones either become a force when he turns 30 or when he gets a QB that can threaten the whole field. I'm thinkin the latter.
 
Or maybe, just maybe if our players just hang to the freakin ball we'll have a chance...

The O line needs to get off the ball and hit people more i agree....but he have like ZERO identity on offense and because teams can put 8 or more in the box and have no one beyond 12 yards its hard for them to block or to even know who is coming.....look i know Penny doesnt have the strongest arm but he can get it downfield......and Henne doesnt have expericen but he can flick it 50 yards......IMO and i donno how close i am with this thought but with a TRUE IDENTITY our line can start acting like it.......they do have to play better but i think we just need to take chances and go for stuff....it may lead to losses but atleast we can go man we did everything...instead of 3 and out with 3 running plays with minutes to go in the game with 9 or more guys in the box....UGH it may be play calling it may be motivation for the O-line maybe the team knows it is a 10 win max team with Penny at the helm so they dont care I DONNO but for the love of something do something about it.


our coaching staff preaches fundamentals and basics well we dont do those for **** when we need them most.....so lets fix this
