Being an NFL HC is not for everyone. Some people might think is easy but these guys live at the office pretty much. It's a lot of stress. Now why do I think he's going to quit? Just a gut feeling that he's not looking forward to another year of it. I can see it at the press conference. It's like any question he's asked he gives the same short answer.,..."I need to do better " or "we need to play better ".....I honestly think he's tired of dealing with the players of now. Players acted a lot different when he first started in football years ago. They now have giant egos. Some people including myself think he's too low key. No emotion but Tony Sparano had lots of emotion and that didn't work. So the players are part to blame too. Anyway, I believe he's done with it. I believe he might coach in college where it's a lot different but the look in his eye tells me he doesn't want to deal with it anymore more. Does anyone else sees him quitting too?

Nope. You never quit a a head coach unless you retire. You'll never work again (as a HC). Plus you'll forfeit any money coming your way.

Others have quit before and have coached again. This wouldn't be the first time. Of course the ones that come to mind were better like Parcels and Vermeil

No....I don't see him quitting. If he finishes 9-7 he will view that as continual (albeit slow) progress and will want to....and likely will....be able to continue.

Joe won't quit. As meek as he is on game day, he is as arrogant of thinking his plan and philosophy is rock solid and unapproachable.

Well then we're doomed cause I don't think Ross will fire him

He won't quit on $7M a year, but he will be fired.

Joe obviously hates press conferences and consciously tries to give nothing away, but you can tell that he is set to throw it in because of the look in his eye... Which eye? Right? Left? What gives it away? The iris? The cornea? The pupil gets dilated? Is it bloodshot from crying over Dallas Thomas' protection? I understand that a person's health can be analyzed by studying the eyes - it's called iridology.
You sir, have remarkable skills in analyzing facial features. I couldn't even tell you what color Joe's eyes are.

I hope he quits. But he won't. And he isn't getting fired unless we lose out.

Tell that to Nick Saban.....the greatest quitter in Dolphin history.

Technically Saban didn't quit. Bobby Petrino however...now that's a quitter...and he got a job the very next season as the HC for Arkansas.

Philbin doesn't strike me as the guy that would quit. I think he will try as hard as he can to do the job he was hired to do well. I just think his personality really limits him and makes his being anything other than an average head coach unlikely.
