Yea the Line isn't doing great, but he had plenty of time a couple time, and he jsut held the ball. I even with Hodge on Espn, Culpep doesn't trust the System. And its NOT the same as last years System, i think if Linehan was here, things would a LOT differant. Im sick of this offence of Run every first down, then Shotgun 3rd down, for a slant or RB dump off. Lets DO somthing...
 
i agree with you, we need to mix it up and not abandon the run like we have 2 weeks in a row

why not on first down try a shot down the field? i do miss linehan

Well we started 2-4 last year and were beat by the Bills and the Jets and our offense was far from perfect except maybe versus Denver. So lets see what happens beofre we proclaim Linehan's offense better which was too pass happy at times also.
 
no question linehans system was better. being unpredictable defenses had to play us honest, and it made our o line look better last year
 
What would help this offense is for somebody to make a friggin block.
 
I don't think there has been enough execution to even be able to evaluate the system yet. I have faith the Nick Saban will do what he has to do to get the team going in the right direction.
 
i mean i remember last year to get a 5 or 6 yard gain we used to do quick slants and let randy. chris, marty etc talent to make people miss to gain some good yards

or trying shots down field once in a while to get a big play or maybe a penalty

right now we need to run the ball against the teams that cannot stop the run, we abandoned the run for 2 games in a row even though against buffalo we were running the ball down their throats
 
Let me refresh for those with short memories


Week 2 last year versus Jets

15 first downs ran the ball 16 times total threw the ball 43 times for 177 yards in a loss to the Jets 7-17 offense sucked.

Week 4 versus Buffalo
Ran the ball 19 times and threw 33 times for 226 yards in a 14-20 loss to Bills.

Week 5
Ran the ball 13 times and threw 43 times for less than 300 yards in a loss to Bucs 13-27.

Week 6
9 first downs ran the ball 14 times in a loss to the chiefs.

Our offense was not all that under Linhan.
 
convenient that you mention only the first 6 weeks. really only four games becaus eyou exclude weeks 1 and 3, where im assuming the offense did better since we won. your not accounting for 12 games, including the 6 game winning streak. i dont see how you can judge his system without considering those games
 
i want chan gailey back. norv's system was good, but we had the totally wrong QB for it.

we are supposed to have the same system as last year, but i cant make a judgement because the whole offense seems screwed up. gus chucked the ball down the field all the time though and we havent seen any of that yet

I was mentioning the games we were bad in, its not conveinance,We have played two games so far and if you look at our season as whole our offense was not great especially since we beat alot of stepsisters. I was comparing the games that were similar. We were 3-7 at one point but I guess some of us have short memories.

Miami was down 17-0 against the bills on the road, we had to pass in that situation. It was actually 4 straight running plays that got us our first td in that game from the Buffalo 40 yard line right to the TD by Brown ...

And check the chiefs game boxscore. We were being routed early and had to pass.

The Bucs were up like 20-0 on us, our defense sucked hard very early in those games and forced the issue to pass more.
