Okay, this a thread for the guys who correctly predicted either who we'd draft, who we'd avoid, any trades (or lack of trades), and any other bragging rights fit to print.

For example, Boomer and CKParrothead were all over the Ted Ginn scenario. They said the Fins were real interested, and even went so far as to say Ted Ginn was a Top Ten pick. They were right. They called it.

As for myself, I predicted we'd draft Satele and move Hadnot back to Guard. While that hasn't happened yet. It looks like it might come to pass.

big hug for the mystery solvers!

I pushed for Lorenzo Booker stating we needed a third down scat-back type...here is my brilliance from Feb 22nd 2007...
I think somewhere in the draft we need to pick up a Scat type back to complement Ronnie B. I think Lorenzo Booker might be a good option. He really showed up in the bowl game this year and should do well at the combine, hopefully his stock doesn't rise to high. Do you guys think this is something we should address, and where do you think a guy like Booker might go? I know cameron likes to give his number one guy alot of rest, and his number two guy has a history of being pretty sucessfull.

Boomer was close, I'll give him that, but he wasn't right, here's what he said:

"In the past 3 hours, whilst chatting draft with CK, I've been watching highlights of Ted Ginn Jr. both at OSU and at high school.

I see no way that Miami should pass on him, unless Brady Quinn gets to pick 7. I managed to go 19 minutes and saw him tackled twice. TWO times. 2. In almost 20 minutes."

Well, Brady got to 9 and we didn't select him. The mighty Boomer (please note my sarcasm), along with most of the rest of us, thought that Brady was a lock if he fell to 9. He wasn't.

I'm much more impressed with the other board members that said we shouldn't take Brady Quinn. There were a number of them, but Boomer wasn't one of them.

Well, I'm proud(?) to say that I predicted that there was NO WAY that they'd pass on Quinn if he were available at #9. I also never imagined they'd cut McMichael, since we really had not much behind him. So I struck out every which way you can...

Before the draft, it seemed like there were more anti-brady fans then pro-brady, but on draft day it appeared to be 99% brady lovers. ODD!

Good one. Booker wasn't even on my radar as I thought he wasn't a good fit for the Zampese offense. Obviously Cameron runs a slightly different version.

Nice.

I don't want to toot any horns...

I was originally a Kahlil guy.

But, having read a few draft prospect sheets from different sites and a few comments from our staff about the "type" of OLinemen we want.... and I've quickly become a Samson Satele guy.

My current draft wish list is:

Round 1 - Levi Brown LT
Round 2a - Justin Blalock LG
Round 2b - Samson Satele C
Round 3 - Paul Soliai DT/NT

I'm also hearing great things about Joe Staley LT. I'd be happy with him as well at LT.

I called Satele and Soliai. Positionally, I got 3 out of 4 of my picks. As it seems Satele and Drew Mormino will eventually settle in at C and G (whomever loses the Center gig).

In later posts, I dumped Levi Brown for Joe Staley. You can't believe how my heart sank when the 49ers traded up to get Staley. I really feel like he's going to be the best LT of the draft. But hey, we did nab another Central Michigan prospect who just might not be half bad.

Looking back, I really like our draft. None of the guys were REAL glamour picks, but when you look at the group we really did a great job of cherry picking.

My only tongue-in-cheek statement is Ginn. A healthy Ginn makes this draft a great one for us. An unhealthy Ginn reeks of Daunte Part 2. And it could sour Cam/Mueller's first impression.

I got the first three picks right (Ginn, Beck and Satele). Those where the only picks I made although if I had made any additional picks I would probably have been incorrect. The only other guy I had my eye on was Soliai but I don't know if I would have selected the right round.

I didn't think their was any way we were going to take Ginn with the #9 pick. I didn't think he was good enough as a WR to merit going that high.....guess I was wrong.

I've called it on Ted Ginn for months. I had Dark make that sig for me back in like February or so.

However, I didn't think we'd pass on Quinn if he was there, but also didn't think he'd be there.

I had Booker in the 4th round of my final mock, and I've had Beck/Satele in mocks before.
