Rod Coleman is fifth in the NFL with five sacks. He'll be going up against Seth McKinney, that sounds like a dream match-up for the Falcons d-line. Coleman's a big guy that can rush the passer as well as stop the run, we might be seeing a lot more runs to the outside than I thought.

The Falcons entire d-line seem to play alot better at home than on the road. Their dome is probably the hardest place to play right now. So I am going to call all my fellow Phinfans that are going to the game to rock the house. I've seen them on the road and I would be more worried about the ends they seem to not have as much of a drop on the road. It won't matter anyway hopefully R@R will be running circles around them.

i was thinking the exact same thing, he will be very disrupting to the pass and run game.

Similar to the colts, they seem to take players who run well on a fast track. I dont know what the gametime temperature will be in Miami but i hope it's hot, because if we can get the Falcons fast defense hot and tired early, then exploit the secondary we just may have a chance.

The outside run is just fine with me, I love seeing Ronnie taking on DB's as opposed to DL.

The only way I see that happening is to run run and run. Their line will still give Ferrotte fits because he holds the ball too long way too much. Kerney and their other DE is very quick and athletic so I say let coleman blow up through the line and send a back where Rod was and you kill both them birds with one stone. Their secondary is nothing special but one of the corners is, D'angelo Hall shut down TO while givin him a dose of his on medicine and is playing at probowl level. I highly recommend that Gus stay away from him. Also their LB's is a very good group led by Keith Brooking. I think R&R will have to play lights out and our D reek havock and get the O some feild position.

Coleman has emerged into a great player. I am sure Saban knows this as well.

The outside will be harder than the middle probably. Brady Anderson and Patrick Kerney is fast and athletic and play the run well and those LB's lead by Brooking really seem to fly to the corners for support. I think the safties is their D's weak link and we should target them somehow.

Did'nt 3 of his sacks come in one game? I watched them last time they played and I think thats what the commentaters said anyway. He does move the o-lineman more often than not but I don't think he will be that big of a factor he seems to tire easy and when he does get that penetration it's usually after a long offensive drive so I think those stats are a little misleading but he still does a good job.

What I keep dreaming of is a play where we come out with Chambers and Booker( or Boston or Welker) split out, Ronnie and Ricky in a split backfield probably taking the OLB with them, with McMichael on the line. At the snap both Chambers and whoever run either an out route or something towards the sidelines, Ronnie and Ricky both split from the backfieldin opposite directions. At this point the Safety's should be headed away from the middle of the field. We should then just drop Randy over the MLB or deep against the S.

Well if we run in the begining, and find a way to get that Falcon defense on it's heels, then i would challenge the secondary. D'angelo Hall shut down Owens by playing him very physical. Now while our recivers aren't the most Physical, we have enough speed to burn the secondary especially if they were to be tired. If Miami wishes to win this game we will need to go on long time consuming drives. Keep their own defense fresh and keep the explosive Falcons off the field. We cant waste scoring oppertunities by commiting bad penalties either.

I agree with almost evrything. Good post. I would stay away from Hall and attack the rest of the secondary but Gus is yet to prove he is capable of taking our offense on a long time consuming drive so until he gets in a rythym I would not be shy of running. I also beleive our D may need to help get the O good feild positon along with Welker. The Falcons use alot of subs constantaniously to keep the D fresh even at home so I would'nt plan on tiring them out too much thats why I think D and ST is very important to us.

Gonna go out on a limb here. But I think Coleman will be lined up over Rex Hadnot with Seth McKinney doubling. Overall, I expect to see lots of TE help in passing situations and 2 TE sets in general.

Doesn't Atlanta run the 3-4? Or did that change when Reeves left?
