First off, let me start by saying that i do NOT support this "protest" in davie. It is absolutely embarrassing and borderline classless.

What exactly are the so called "fans" protesting? Are they protesting because manning didnt want to sign and there was nothing we could do being it was his decision?

Are they protesting to fire ireland because he passed on orton, kolb, smith, and flynn? Because those guys are the **** i mean anyone of them would have one us a superbowl. How dare ireland not make a kneejerk reaction based on what the fans want (orton, kolb, smith, flynn) and overpay all of these sub-par quarterbacks.

We are rebuilding! deal with it. Teams do NOT win superbowls through FA and that is a FACT! we traded marshall for two 3rd round picks for a reason. In philbins first press conferance he even stated that the miami dolphins are not in a win now situation. The focus of this team will be game by game to win. they are looking at the bigger picture when only a small portion of the fans are as well.

Now dont get me wrong, the premise of this thread is not to sit here and defend ireland because i dont like him as much as the next guy, my point is that i think we are all over reacting. The media is making all of this look worse than it is until the fans took it upon themselves with this great idea to "protest" outside the training facility and make a mockery of our franchise and fan base. Whats next? start wearing opposing teams jerseys to the home games??? Are we lions fans now??? I dont want to hear " make our voices heard" that is BS. If you want to make your voices heard how about you stop buying tickets? Stop buying merchandise, just stop supporting this team financially and your voices WILL be heard.

To make it public and protest like a bunch of god dam losers makes everything worse.

I believe this is the lowest our fan base has ever fell.

The Team needs to repair the relationship with local media. It is driving a lot of this negative publicity and whipping up the fans in an unneccessary frenzy. You are absolutely right that the protest and like minded things are a net negative for everyone involved.

Here's what I don't like: 5yrs, 1 playoff game, playoff game lost, losing record, disasterous start to last season, complaining by former players, talking heads making DIRECT comments about front office problems backed up by free agent muffs and fans now going at each other. What's left to happen that could sink us lower? Maybe not the worse mess it could be but it is getting perilously close IMO

Who cares about the protest? They are just out there enjoying the weather and having fun. The fan base is just fed up with the incessant dross of this organization. Maybe the protest is premature considering the draft hasn't even happened, but some people are just tired of the same stuff. IMO there really isn't anything to protest about yet, but let it be. It is what it is. The fan base's moral has slowly been declining after a decade of pure crap that anything entices them to make something out of nothing.

It's like being in a long-term relationship and every little thing makes you want to slap a bitch. Signing Garrard is equivalent to asking me to take out the trash while I'm watch Football. Bitch are you serious!?

This is the sad part. I'n my mind we have been rebuilding for 10 years. That's what is hard to deal with. And it is hard to deal with a terrible front office. Rebuilding, that's nothing.

So I guess fans are not allowed to express their displeasure over ownership/Front office management that continues to make one mistake after another?

No we cannot force free agents to come here, but when our GM takes Ted Ginn, Jr. over Patrick Willis, who is arguably the best LB in the NFL, and does this over and over, the fans have a right to express themselves. When we continually draft guys like Pat White and John Beck, we have a right to question the mentality of our GM. Some people may decide not to buy the mercahndise or tickets, but if people want to picket outside that is their right as a fan and an American. It's called Freedom of Speech.

"we traded marshall for two 3rd round picks for a reason. In philbins first press conferance he even stated that the miami dolphins are not in a win now situation."

What reason? So we could draft two superstars with third round picks? Sorry, but anyone defending this decision is a blind homer, and I'm usually an optimist (supported Henne as long as I possibly could, even gave Sparano the benefit of the doubt.

This started with the failed Parcells project and is still going. Ireland has had more than his fair share of chances, and has failed miserably. FIRE THAT JOKER!!
