wow this loss is getting to everyone im mad but teams do have bad games. Actually i don't think miami played bad theres alot of positives to take from the game. Cmon guys in saban we trust its one game and that was a very hostile enviornment. If you want to question the coaching staff question mularkey what a dumba**. Everybody knows ronnie brown gets better as the game goes on. You have a beautiful driv where ronnie brown showed alot of effectiveness, and our next drive you completely abandon the run. Also wtf does a full back fake hb toss two times in a game. we barely got away with it the first time but we do it again. im sorry but that is not the best play call for ronnie brown. pund it up the f****** middle with ronnie or even sneak it with Daunte.. We will be fine we have 3 cream puff games, if we don't win at least two then ill be worried. It's crazy that we even had a shot in that game with all the overthetop celebration going on. jerome bettis riding a bus onto the field wow. thats why superbowl teams find the most extravagant thing to do. patriots had ozzy osborne they could never lose that game. Even the bucs were horrible the next year after the superbowl but whipped the eagle b/c of the comin out party.

great post i was going to start a similar one, i thought we were going to be competitive and we were

i mean everyone is going to lose a game it happens, just get out of the way, gives us a couple extra days to prepare for the next game, i mean their are going to be 16 teams at 0-1 when the second week begins, i mean we are right in the middle and it is only WEEK 1

daunte looked very good at the end of the first half and the start of the second looked like he got fatigued and ran out of gas

ronnie fought for some tough yards and next week they will run the ball a lot better bet on it
and last the defense cannot give up the big plays and stupid penalties to continue drives

but they played damn good in my opinion

I was one of the original Fiedler haters on this board and I felt we were under a dark cloud while he was with us. When I first saw Culpepper last night and the team, I got the warm fuzzies that I haven't felt in awhile. I saw some good plays and I got the feeling that SI was right....we could be in the SuperBowl this year. Then around the time the Steelers were given the touchdown gift by the refs, the momentum changed. Culpepper started giving me flashbacks of Fiedler. I liked the idea of Culpepper and the Dolphins because of the whole Orlando-UCF thing. I can only pray that I don't have to go back to expecting 2-3 interceptions per game and hoping he gets them out of his system in the first half. On the flip-side it was nice to see Welker doing his thing. My nickname for him is "little buddy". :) I am glad to have gotten past the whole Steelers vs Dolphins thing as I am engaged to a Steelers fan and last night was very tense. Now we can enjoy our team's seasons more peacefully.

damn brandon i really like your swagger. you look like your going to be another dedicated and smart finheaven poster. 75 posts through a maximum of 8 days is great. i wish i had more time for this site. to anwser your points yes it is just one game. IF that game was in miami we would have won but it was a coming out party. which was even worse on top of the fact that it was a very hostile crowd. that game was meant for them to win.

Do you guys really feel our team played lousy when we were winning at the end of the 3rd quarter?

Two crappy passes, and a horrible penalty against us on 3rd and long cost us the game......other than that we played pretty well. Yes, our d-backs have to improve, and we have to block better to open holes for Ronnie, but it was the opening game and we almost beat the Steelers in their place.

The sky is not falling.

i think you have the wrong thread roman this is the cup is half full thread read mine and brandons post

In my opinion, the Steelers looked flat and lacked desire. Even Cowher was not barking on the sidelines like he normally does. I really think the bad call of the ref took the wind out of their sails and they felt panic to produce some points. I believe Culpepper is the answer, but I was just feeling let down. I know we will smear our division opponents all over the field and we have always had an outstanding September home record. The next 3 games should be easy. I was really happy with how they played for the most part and I believe that without the refs screw-up, we may have held a goal line stance and make them kick a field goal. I think we could have won.

Some pretty sorry calls by the refs in that game. There was an obvious "no call" agains't Miami but there was a slew of no calls against Pitt. I don't think I have ever seen so many illegal block in the back that were not called. And its a sad note that Saban throws a red flag five seconds before the extra point kick and no official see's it. Should a coach have to hit the ref in the head with the flag to get their attention. I know I am biased as a Dolphin fan, but there sure appeared to be some biased officiating in that game or does that go with the super bowl trophy.

They did fumble it at the 2 yard line when it should've been another touchdown. And Daunte had one in the red zone that should've been picked off for a 3rd pick. So it wasn't as close as some make it out to be.

This year with an aging, slow defense. No running game. It's all about CPEP, if he plays like he did last year, we're toast, if he plays like he did a few years ago, we're in the playoffs. It's that simple. You gotta figure he will improve . This game was a little too soon for him, but a definite wake-up call for the rest of the team.

We have to improve and I believe we will. Everyone should have seen it in preseason. The o-line can't run block. Maybe see what Jacox can do? We still have secondary problems. Hopefully Daniels will help and Allen learns fast. The defense got tired. Understandable in the first game. Why didn't they rotate Traylor and Big Daddy? We are so deep in defensive players, I thought they would be rotating them to keep them fresh. I never heard Bowens mentioned at all. Why didn't they go to Chambers until the second half? Daunte played great and the pass blocking was good but he had no business throwing those interceptions. Like someone else said, they were Fiedler balls.

They never should have been in that position in the 1st place. That drive ended inside their 10 yd line, but the refs called 2 back to back ticky tack penalties that just wiped the intensity out of our defense.
The Steelers should have been punting from their endzone.
I still can't believe the Steelers got called for only 1 penalty the entire game. That is incredulous.

Aging slow defense? Who are you talking about? JT? He looked pretty quick last night.
Interior lineman are not supposed to be fast. Traylor was in the backfield a lot last night.
Spragan, Crowder and the entire secondary are young and athletic. We also have good young D-lineman in Roth, Evans, Vickerson.
Please be more objective in your analysis.
If this team is all about CPEP then we are out of the playoffs this year. He's a good QB, but great he's not. He cannot carry this team like Marino did.
