i blame saban!!!! for the first time since he has been our coach i am mad about the coaching!! last week he and the offensive jackass we have as an oc put the game in the hands of gus freakin frerotte!!! he threw a pick vs atlanta....then they put the ball in his hands again with four...count em 4 straight passes inside the red zone!!! come on even the most football challenged jackass would have ran ronnie at least once!!!! it is just frustrating!!!!!:fire:

thoughts please

As a first-year coach, I'm going to continue to give Saban the benefit of the doubt. I like his style, philosophy, and pedigree, etc.

That said, he has clearly directed some questionable moves - both personel and strategic - this season. I'm going to give him some time to get it together, but I will say this: if he's as good a coach as is advertised, we need to win the next three very winnable games to reach a relatively respectable 6-6. He needs to give us something to look forward to next season, and a 7-9 or 8-8 season at this point would be just that.

I'd go out on a limb to say if we finish 8-8, about 98 percent of us on this site would be happy and would feel confident going into next season. Let's hope so!

my thoughts are u need to see the bigger picture. He passed cos those were the plays he was given! Into the sun and he had Ronnie or Ricky behind him. Gus got us into the position to win it. When u r inside the 10 under 2 mins you listen to what your coaches tell you!! And thats the bottom line. So dont go blaming Gus this week cos u looking in wrong direction.

I agree. Ultimately it is Saban's fault. He was out coached.

A lot of people here don't want to admit it, but its true. When you come into an organization and want total control over every aspect...every buck stops at your desk.
I was so excited to get Saban, but so far, I have just not seen much difference. Yeah he needs his players and blah blah blah....but when you got your OC losing games over and over again and you don't step in to stop the bleeding...what the hell is Saban thinking??

I have read post after post about who to blame and who not to blame. This is the NFL and people are getting alot of $$ to play a game. Bottom line, Chambers had a chance to tie the game abd blew it. Reggie Howard had a chance to put the game away and blew it. You can blame Saban or Linehan but the end result is that the players did not get r done!

Jimmy Johnson would have run.....I guarantee you that!

Because that's all Kippy Brown knew how to call.....RUN, RUN, RUN,....punt!

I agree that he should of tried a run, and the two fade passes into the sun were stupid, but we shouldn't have been in that position to begin with. The bottom line is the players didn't play well enough to win. Chambers could have caught the 4th down pass, even Marino said that after the game.

Blame whoever you want, but i dislike the result, not the way they tried.
I'll always hate to see our beloved team lose like that, but just take it like it is, a victory of the weakest, or a major failure of our players.
Not a lack of coaching, but a lack of execution, they got their 3rd strings everywhere and we never got the results of a healthy team. Rather than blaming Scott Linehan because Frerotte sends terrible passes you must point into our QB. OC send some play and the players execute, if it fails it won't be because of the coach, but because of our players themself.
Our OC have worked by training hard this team enough to trust them to execute some play. Execution is all that's failing. Obviusly that if our OC can't be sure of some play, he must train them harder or move with another play, but if this same play have worked during daily training sessions, he assumes that it'll work on weekend too.
If we must, i'll blame Saban because he fired Evans and those Pats used him aganist us.

This is what if funny is that we were having all of a success on running last week vs. ATL then we pass at then end and scott was crucified for it. Then we had most of our success at the end of the game passing this week and then now everybody wants to hang him up because he passed the ball.

Hypocrites.

Simply Amazing!! You have not seen much change since the Wanny days? Are you blind? Do you watch the games? If you watched sports center afterwards aor caught the score in the paper then fine I could see your point. But c'mon! This team has a WHOLE NEW coaching staff, 50% roster change, offensive and defensive scheme and plays and you are complaining about not winning yet? Jump off the wagon please! This team wil lprobably change at least 1/3 of its team again this offseason. Have there been questionnable calls - YES - but only becaus ethey didn't work. How many times during a game doi you sit the as a play unfolds and say WHy the hell are they doing that - an dthen the plays nets 10 or 15 yards and you are like alright good call. Mare missed a 30 yard FG - that's 10-0 1st half. McMike fumbles - that's another 3 or 7 points. 1st half should have been 13 or 17-0! Is that the coaches fault? Chambers drops what seemed like 10 passes - is that Gus' fault or Linehan's fault. MOst of the time one big pay changes the game. How about Chamber's 3rd down miss in the 4th qtr. Catch the ball and the drive keeps moving. His TD miss at the end - was that Linehan or Gus' fault? Maybe this play calling is partly designed to hide the flaws in the Oline - ever think of that? How many 3 drop sets does Gus take - almost everyone! This team will improve but it takes time - what a joke to say fire everyone - it's called rebuilding and if you do it right it takes time but when you get there you can stay on top for awhile!

Big Deal we lost to the defending SB champs who haven't lost 2 in a row in forever. So we would have been 4-5 in stead of 3-6 - watch out we are on a roll! At the end of the day we will have a higher draft pick as we rebuild. Is that giving up - NO WAY IN HELL - but if we lose you don't abandon the course. Think 3 years out people - we had 5 YEARS of idiots ruin this team - you can't change it around in one offseason.
