I've been a long time Fin fan and always will be but I am truly lost at this point. I just don't know what to think. I am always positive and looking for the sunlight but I'm really having a problem seeing it this time. I'm ok with Manning not choosing us, I'm ok with not getting Flynn as well trusting that Philbin knows him best...But when I heard about the rushed Alex Smith attempted signing at Franchise type money and the reports that A - our organization is not respected for the most part throughout the league buy other players and B - botched move after botched move by our front office, I'm just discouraged at this point. I really would like someone who has some non biased insight to give me some ammunition to believe in our organization. Yes we have draft picks but I have so little faith in our front office that I feel that the draft will be botched as well. Even sitting at the 8 spot I don't have the confidence that we will choose a specialist for our team in which we sorely lack them. I'm hurting man. Somebody help!!

back off the ledge. most of the "botched moves" you reference are PR spin. they know what they are doing. ireland drafted extremely well in his first year in charge (pouncey, daniel thomas, jimmy wilson, clyde gates, charles clay), kicked ass in a trade (downright stealing reggie bush) and did ok in free agency (signing kevin burnett and not signing kyle orton - i don't believe that was ross's decision) . brandon marshall for two thirds is addition by subtraction. philbin will be an excellent head coach. if they sign alex smith it is because they far prefer him to matt flynn or any other available free agent options. the future is bright my friend. all will be resolved.

I"m a little worried if we sign Alex Smith although he does have some WCO credentials, and 1st round pedigree. other than that i think we're on the right path, don't let these over the top brats taint your thinking with their flawed logic

I will say that alex smith is probably more Ross pushing for a QB cuz he thinks he'll need something to fill the stadium, unfortunately Alex Smith won't do it

You make some good points and I really REALLY hope that the league perception of our organization is not a tainted one. We used to always be able to lean on the "South Beach" angle. South Beach and great weather alone would entice a look from quality free agents. But this just further confirms how important the QB position is. I quality QB fixes most of the griping on this board but you have to agree that our history of obtaining QB's that don't work out has attributed to the frustration. Alex Smith would be another gamble for a guy who has yet to put together an entire solid season but I guess you could say that about most guys we would have picked up maybe outside of Peyton.

All we can do is have faith...I'm not sold on Alex Smith but I have to trust that Philbin and Sherman can get the most out him. Moore/Smith/rookie?

Also I think the Clark tweet "No one" wants to come here...is a little off, didn't we just sign 2 FA's...CB Marshall and a O Linemen I believe. Do we really want to overpay for big names? Not sure (I just watched Moneyball...lol)

Yes it sucks being a fan right about now...but I have faith that Philbin will get the most out of every player on the team...the players play for the coach. The coach takes the field with them every Sunday...not Ross and not Ireland. We'll take the "garbage" players that nobody wants, the ones that can't find a home and stroll down to Miami, mold this team of misfits into an under the radar force that will take the league bye storm. Fins against the world...we'll have a bunch of players (or a team)with a chip on it's shoulder....built through the draft.

Have faith - that's about all we got right now. That's my outlook anyways...hope it helps.
