the same date every year, but can anyone tell me when the regular season schedule is released?

NFL.com just says "The official 2005 schedule, with playing dates and times, will be announced in the spring." I don't recall if it's always on the same date but I don't believe it is. I remember last year, Miami was negotiating to switch some of their away games so that they didn't have to fly back to Fla from the West Coast (Seattle and LA) so I believe that a draft schedule is shown to the teams and some discussion is allowed before the final one is published.
 
Thanks Celtkin. My friend told me it's always on April 7th, but I wasn't sure about that. And I'm concerned because, unless I'm misreading it, the regular doesn't start until Oct 2? Or is that just the prime regular season schedule? I don't want to have to wait till then for the season to start.

I think that's the Prime time schedule. There was a post in the main forum that the prime time schedule was to be released today.
 
Good - I can't wait almost 3 weeks for the season to start. I'm already dying without football.
