This is coming from the man who was involved in a scandal with his team. Embarassing his team and the nfl as an organization. He didn't defy the authorities or anything but the fact that he was involved in a boat party full of prostitutes speaks of himself as a person. You guys come in here to defend him that he is about to be released and its sad.

I'm sure Brad Childress saw it coming. I remember that his own team was trying to get him the best rehab possible and he decided to take care of it on his own in central florida to probably do more partying while his teamates were working hard in the off-season.

How do you expect me to feel sorry for a man who made a lot of money while being injured and putting our team in a worse position. Didn't he force himself to come back and play or are you going to believe his stories that he was forced to come back. After making 4 horrible starts and not getting us anywhere and blaming the Front Office, the little respect I had for him as a player is gone now.

You can take this with a bucket of salt

ok that was last season when dick saban was coach hes ready this season... and u cant say us "normal' peaople havent been through a few "scandals" of our own in or lives... hes a human being we all mess up.. jus because hes an athelete does that give him super powers not to make mistakes.. grow up did he do any bad things here.... no

Please stop living in the past Daunte is gone, Its over, move on or go be a fan of daunte's new team.Lets be sad for a millionare!! Beacuse we all know daunte is eating out of dumpsters tonight

As I recall Childress likened dealing with Culpepper similar to dealing with T.O. when T.O. was in Philadelphia the year before. The amazing thing is I have never seen so much love for a guy who has done so little for an organization. Culpepper's play was the worst this organization has ever seen. I wasn't around finheaven when Ray Lucas was playing here. Did Lucas get as much love as Culpepper on finheaven? Bc their careers here are pretty similar. Although, I would give a slight edge to Lucas as far as production.

I would like to hear from a DC fan why exactly we should be all broken up that he his going to try and ply his trade elsewhere?

The hookers on the boat?

Whatever whatever

Lack of serious rehab last off season?

Well Daunte knows best.

That winning drive in the play offs when he dropped back and threw an 50 yard bomb...

err, never happened

Daunte has done didi mau for the Dolphins..very little, and yet one would think that we went to the Super Bowl last year to read all the clothes rendering and wailing occuring over DC's departure to a new and better place...

He was a square peg in a round hole, he just didn't fit, and he would have become and an even larger albatross by next season.

Lotsa luck DC, I hope you catch on with another team and get some playing time.

[mod] Keep this thread on topic. Attack the post, not the poster, please. [/mod]

I'll expand on this. Duante was less than truthful about his knee to both the media and the coaches.
As a result he took the field, struggled and put the franchise in a 1-3 start
before Nick Saban decided he was not healthy enough to continue. And it is my belief that he would have continued to deny he was hurt in order to keep playing even if it was costing the team games. I would dare say Duane
was a part of the reason Saban left and almost cost Randy Mueller his job. So forgive the Dolphins brass for turning their back on Duante because he no longer has their trust.

Pepp's career similar to Lucas'? Lucas is a career backup. Pepp is a former Pro Bowl player. Pepp will eventually get a chance to start somewhere next year. Lucas will have to fight for a roster spot next year. Neither DC nor Green will be great next year. I don't know what to expect from either.

If DC was rushed back last year, we should blame the head coach. However, maybe he was not rushed back and he is just finished. We won't know until we see them play. Green is as much of a ? as DC. I think we gave up too much for Green but if Beck is great, I don't care!

i dont feel sorry for guys making five million a year, it is the nature of thier sport

Cam says he wants all his QBs to train as starters. He wants a cohesive group of guys that know their roles and work to support each other for the good of the team. Without knowing DC personally, he seems rather immature and vindictive. His anger is getting the best of him.

When I saw the PC of Trent Green, I came away saying, he seems like a pretty cool guy with natural leadership skills. He's a calm steady dude. I hope he's similiar to Rich Gannon at the end with the Raiders. And I'm to the point that although, I had hoped Duante would work out for us, but if we get nothing for him, fine let him go and we'll move on.

That's where you are wrong. He's NOT yet ready for this season. By his own admission he's got a long way to go.
He is a major risk. Do you not recall after Saban left, one of his assistants was quoted in one of the local papers that Saban was less concerned about his knee and more concerned about what was above the neck. Translation: he was having trouble picking up the offense and reading defenses.
That is unlikely to change at this point in his career. He got by with his mobility, and that ability has diminished. So now he has to try and compensate and become a more efficient, smarter QB. Apparently, the coaching staff and GM don't think he can.

I wouldn't bet on DC starting somewhere next yr, unless it's in Canada. NFL scouts and GM's are pretty sharp and I don't hear many beating down the door for access to DC.
