To all those who keep talking a ricky trade I found out when Ricky will be traded. When the Colts show up at our door and say "here is Payton Manning, and oh since you have tight cap space we will pay every part of his salary except for the vet minimum for the next 10 years."

Saban has said no, Mueller has said no. I would hate to see some of you people as our GM, would make Speilman look like a rock star. What is the fair market value for a potential 2,000 yard probowl rusher with a sick work ethic and playing for UNDER vet minimum including the suspension and doesn't really care how much he makes because money doesn't make him happy thus leaving the door open for a low cost long term deal? run on sentance I know, it was for the effect lol

He might not be his old self, but you guys should keep him.. No one knows if Ronnie Brown's gonna hit it big, and at least Ricky's tried it all before... Once a great always a great... Just like Vinny T

Are you kidding me...there are some people on here that think Ricky is worth a 1st round pick.

finmann you must be crazy... dillon nor james were even offered a 1st round pick... Ricky isn't even a 3rd round pick. sorry

rickys definitely worth more than a 3rd... he owns dillon, always has and always will. All these predictions are worthless, just enjoy the best tandem in the NFL that we've got and we'll see what happens. But since you want predictions, hey how about Ricky getting traded to the Colts straight up for hometown hero, Edge who's already been cited as wanting to return to ol' South Florida. Ahhh... now let the replies begin.

Ricky was worth an entire draft. Actually more if you combine what we gave for him along with the Saints. He definantly has the talent few others posses but lets let his action speak for him this year.

I think it is dumb of us to even guess about Ricky's future when the simple fact of the matter is NONE OF US HAS A CLUE!!!!

Ricky doesnt want to play for much longer, so I doubt anyone would give up more then a 3rd rd. pick for him. The guy still doesnt want to play football, he just wants freedom. So he'll get himself out of debt and play another season or 2 and make some millions back. Then he'll manage his money better and will do what he wants with his life (alot of smoking I assume). Money equals freedom for Ricky, thats why hes playing, not his love for the game or the Dolphins.

For what effect? I didn't get it.

What was the point of the first paragraph...you completely lost me there.

Ricky isn't going to be traded.

well i have always beleived that a good football team needs tw really goo rbs and a solid 3 team back if it was me i would carry 5 wrs 4 tes and 4 rbs and use a tw rb set and keep 1 rb on the practice squad. and i dont understand why any sane dolphin fan would want only 1 good rb and two not so good backs when teams like denver ,dallas , and pittsburg have three great rbs ?

Well, your rambling clouded what you were trying to say, cause I couldn't exactly figure it out...but I'll add my 2 cents...

1) RW hasn't done anything for the Fins since his return.
2) RW is one toke away from a year susp. from the league.
3) There is a question mark that will hang over him as long as his career lasts, that being "Was his last play his last play for good ?" Or I guess you could say "When will he decide to go back on walkabout ?"
4) His salary, right now is very manageable for us or any team. But if a trade were made, the Fins would be giving up the $8.3 mil judgement. Now, we may absolve him of that judgement with his continued good playing, but that has not been determined yet. If he is traded, that would have to be worked out first. That may mean that the team we trade to would be responsible for that judgement.
5) The Colts aren't going to be knocking anytime soon, so that option is out.

Now, there is another scenario...

After the season....

IF RW returns and sets the league afire, returns to his old self, and proves to some other needy team that he is back for good, a trade could be worked out. Will we get a 2nd rounder or better...very very very doubtful...if no one could get a 2nd rounder for EJ or SA, then RW won't be garnering that type of compensation.

At any rate, to say that he isn't going to be traded is not really correct. It could be a matter of time...

My personal opinion is he'll be around until he retires for good...
