Love that. Surprised they didn't throw a flag on the crowd. And since when do you not get delay of game because the crowd is too loud?

I was wondering that to but when did the play clock come into football?
 
been a Dolphins fan since 1982 and I'm not from Miami and have never attended a Dolphin home game but the Orange Bowl must've felt like a aftershock of an earthquake that night

I didn't know there ever wasn't one to be honest.

I found this attempting to look it up.

In 1976, the owners approved the use of two 30 second play clocks that noted the official time between the referee signaling the ball ready for play and the snap. Prior to that the time was monitored by the officials, I believe in particular the field judge.

I guess they decided to let the Bears whine about crowd noise instead of penalizing them like they should have.

Thanks for sharing. That's great. I can't even hear the commentators, haha. I didn't even know you were allowed to wait for a crowd to quiet down. Now I'm imagining old NFL football like a tennis match. No cheering, only polite clapping, haha.
 
So how come when they built Joe Robbie they didn't design it for the acoustics of the crowd? talk about having the 12th man....Damn !!!!
 
holy crap. this is unbelieveable. what a great home field advantage we had at the orange bowl. the question i have is why did we give it up?
 
That was an incredible night of Dolphin football. It was my wifes 1st ever football game and typically, she doesn't say much i look over and she is just wild screaming. Then the Chicago fans behind us get really upset and come down and get in front of us, in our row, and start screaming back at us! It was hysterical. You could not hear yourself talk, for that matter, scream back at them to get the f_ck out! It was our night and nothing was gonna change that. Deal with it when you're in the other teams house. Shula's attempt to qiet us had absolutely no effect and really did more to incite. It was a blast.
 
Man that takes me back. God I loved that game and man did I love this video. It's so hilarious to have both Namath and Slasher Simpson commenting on that game....what a couple of tools!
