I have been sitting here watching the tape of the game from NFL network and studing the OL. Or at least trying to. Anyway something came to my attention that kind of bothers me. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed. Here's the thing, every play that is a running play the OL is in a three point stance, but every time it is a passing play the whole OL is in a two point stance.
I understand that would give the OL a better balanced postion to get back to pass protect but it gives away valuable information. I thought maybe it was just used in obvious situations, but no, on the 3rd down when c-pep was still in where we were in obvious passing situ, and even in shotgun, we went back to the three point stance. Also on the playaction plays in run situ we are back in two point stance.
I was wondering if this was something anyone else had noticed??

See the thing that bothers me about it is if they are just doing this during the preseason, then it is causing bad habits for the OL. This is something they surely can't do during the regular season. Since it is easier to run block our of 3 pt stance and pass out of the 2 pt, if we are doing that every play now it will be harder for the OL to get used to NOT doing it when the reg sesaon starts.
I love what Houck has done to our OL and am sure he knows about this. I was just wondering if anyone could give any insight as to why they are allowed to play this way. I noticed the Jags OL played the 3 point stance no matter if the play was a run or pass.

Come on guys give me some help here. Don't make me keep bumbing my thread.:boohoo:

I can't say that I really noticed it very much, but really it could turn into an advantage at some point. If you notice so will other teams so in the start of the game we go with a 3 point stance and throw a bomb when they are expecting a run. But if they really did do that I find it hard to believe, usually its only done in shotgun I thought.

I didn't notice either, so I will rewatch the game later. I'm sure this is just for pre-season. That is a pretty big key for the other teams and I'm sure they would pick up on it.
