The above link is a piece I wrote about the tour given to the media yesterday at the stadium. I say "tour" loosely because we were basically just taken up an elevator to the upper deck and got a chance to take photos inside and interview the head of the project. It has such a different feel than the stadium before. It feels like an actual venue instead of a bowl of meh. The screens are massive, and there are four of them.

They are trying to roll out this program with Uber where you pay $150-$250 to get a round trip uber ride and a tailgating space with grills, tables, ice, etc. You have to bring your own stuff to grill, though. Or you can buy stuff from the general store they're putting in the area for what I would imagine is a higher price than you'd find at a grocery store. Not really sure it'll work, but maybe it will.

Really looks nice, wish I lived in FL so I could attend! Havent been since 2011, hope we get some great turnout at the games this year. Gotta give it to Ross for putting so much into improving the fan experience.

Nice write up, btw!

Strategically, most of the away sideline on the field isn’t shaded, while the home sideline is.

Wait, are they allowed to do that? Lol

A much improved fan experience while adding to the home field advantage and giving it a cool name. Kudos to the Dolphins' front office!

Glad you brought this up. I mentioned this in the original Uber article before it was moved:

Hypothetical situation: Say I want do bring my father and two cousins to the game...I can pay $150-250 to hook us all up, get us there and back, and get us all the equipment needed?

OR do I need to spend a thousand dollars to get me and my 3 family members to tailgate? Does every person in my party need to purchase one of these "Uber tickets" at $250 a pop?

If it is 250 per person inside your tailgate party, that is an effing rip. I will still use the uber services from designated locations... That is cool, but this Uber Tailgate sounds like a major ripoff.

The logical side of me would say it's for everyone included. But, I have no idea unfortunately. It doesn't sound like something I'd do, but maybe there are people out there who would be all about it

For $200-$250 for 5-10 of your friends and family, it would be a hell of a deal. If you get 10 buddies to throw down 20 bucks, you get transport and tents, tailgate equipment, etc... Even if they limit you to a few people, its still kinda cool.

If it is per person, I will definitely pass. And the fact they are making UberTailgate this vague tells me its 250 a head.

Honestly, the front rows don't look appreciably closer to the field than they did prior to renovation. I thought that was supposed to be a HUGE point of emphasis.

Wait, are they allowed to do that? Lol

don't see anything wrong with it unless you say the way the sun crosses the sky is illegal. as long as the stadium is uniform and equal on all sides and they don't have a big screen only over home team. seems really smart for once :).

Congrats on the new gig Mud Dog. I thought you were doing something w/ the Packers last year. Maybe it was longer ago.
