I hate to put a downer on everone parade but Philbin and Sherman aren't hot on Mannig

Philbin absolutely wouldn't/shouldn't reach out to Manning. It's ireland and ross who make the roster decisions. Philbin can give his input but at the end of the day he'll have to deal with the players he's given. Also it's not like Fox or Wisenhunt have contacted Manning either. They met with him after the FO brought him in.

P.S. Ross had to have mentioned the possibility of Manning during the interview. If Philbin disagreed, then he wouldn't have gotten the job.

I agree, it's Irelands job to bring in the groceries. Why is the media talking to Philbin and not Ireland and Ross. Why is Elway selling Manning on Denver and Marino staying non comittal. The whole organization just seems to shot itself in the foot. I just don't see the right things being said and done. If we don't get Manning and Tanenhill then is it Matt Moore and 7-6 season?

I think as a rookie HC, he has alot to prepare for and the playbook is a huge part of it. He is clearly keeping his distance.

Is this because he does not want Manning? I think he did not expect all this hub bub over Manning to Miami so yeah, I could see how or why he would not be all in.

In cleveland, it was the other way around. Shurmer was all in for RG3 and the GM was not. GM dictates over the coach. BTW, I dont believe reports that say Cleveland put in a last second ditch effort. That I find to be simple covering Washingtons stupid azz. Washington was the only team that stayed interested. We were interested, but not what they were asking. Washington bought it to move on....question is, to what? 3rd round is what and not having any meaning for the next three drafts which will kill snyder. He cant handle not being in play.

back to Philbin. I think he wants a prospect that he can sink his teeth into and I think Ireland will appease him on that getting someone like Cousins or even make a huge splash and take Tannehill at 8 (I dont care what people think, a persons stock is a persons stock) to groom and make the future beyond Manning.

Its why I will be dissapointed if we dont get Manning, but not going to kill myself over it. I never let the hoopla rule over me. It would be time to move on and I am not completely sure we are all in for Flynn either at 60 mil.

we're only playing 13 games next season???lolersk8s.

If Philbin TRULY wants Flynn and believes in him, it's hard to be pissed about him wanting him. Even over an aging- maybe got a good couple of years- kind of QB. Don't mmistake me for not wanting Manning- I do. Honestly i am stoked, and started a thread about this very subject, that we are headed in the right direction with or without Manning.
In Philbin I Trust

Marino does not work for the Dolphins, Elway works for the Broncos.

I think anyone who says Philbin has no say in personnel is absilutely out of touch with reality. You don't bring in a new head coach and system and not have him have a say in personnel. If that was the case then this FO is beyond dysfunctional!! My hope is they r all in for Flynn because Philbin truly believes in him. That is the best case scenario for Miami. To say he will just sit back and deal with whoever Ireland gets is ridiculous. To think if they brign in Maning he won't be involved makes absilutely no sense. Maybe Miami is in no hurry because FA starts Tuesday and they want to talk with Flynn as well. What is teh rish with Manning? To sign him without checking him out medically and having him throw would be stupid. They should be in no rush because if they believe in Flynn you go get him Tuesday and if they don't you still set up the meeting with Manning.

It's Billick's thoughts/opinion. And you know what they say about opinions. I don't buy it. Like Ross wouldn't mention Peyton when Philbin signed?

theres a reason billick didnt interview w/ us and im sure its not pleasant.
in the end philbin doesnt have any final say so on which qb we select. he should sit back and enjoy the ride.

Billick didn't interview with any team. He's irrelevant

Just my thoughts, We are installing an West coast offense. i dont think Philbin is big on Manning. I think he wants to go with Flynn, a guy that he is familiar with and a guy that knows the sytem. you have to remember Stephen Ross want's a "franchise QB right now. Who's to say Flynn won't be this year or the next.
