This week will be very revealing. Is Henne that good or not? You have to figure this game will be much like the colts game. We will have the time of possession. And most likely the saints will score quickly. So with that said we have no secondary. So the only solution will be to answer them back with quick strikes too otherwise at the end of the game all brees needs is about 60 seconds. So IMO, Henne will have his coming out party against the saints. But he's gonna have to use that gun early and often.

yeah, well, I am pretty confident in Henne and co.

Brees can't do much if Ronnie and Ricky are pounding the ball down their throats all day.
All Henne needs to do is manage the game. Oh.... and the D needs to get after Brees.

I disagree on this one. First, I think Henne had his coming out party against the Jets. He showed he can make all the throws and do it under pressure. I don't see Henning relying on Henne to win it and making him pass early and often. I think we go with the same game plan that was effective against the Colts and Jets. Ball control offense relying mostly on the run that put us in manageable 3rd and short situations. The goal will be to keep Brees off the field as long as possible. Will Henne have to make plays with his arm? Absolutely, but it will be throughout the course of the game and not early and often imo.

If the game is all on Henne we will get smoked! henne looks real good but he's still going to make mistakes! We can't win a shoot out. We have to control the ball to have chance to win!

I disagree with your disagreement. First off, if any of us think we are going to stop Brees by the WC are fooling themselves. Brees is going to get his points and what Henning understands is that the power of the WC works even better once you open up the passing game.

Now that Ginn and Henne hooked up, you can bet your bottom dollar that we will go deep at least 3 or 4 times/game. I can see a ronnie brown flea flicker coming actually. There is so much we could do to screw with the NO defense its not funny. We havent gotten to some stuff we did last year.

You cant really say that Henne had his coming out party against the jets. Just look at sanchez. It took him a few games to suck. We need to see henne over a few games not just the jets game.

Definitely agree with the original post. I don't think we rely on Henne early but like he said, this could end up just like the Colts game. We'll control the ball most of the way, Brees will strike back and hopefully we can stick to the game plan and keep the score close. But when all is said and done, if our secondary can't control Brees, it's going to be on Henne to either get us back into the game or help lead a last minute touchdown drive.

I'd prefer that doesn't happen and our defense can come up with some turnovers that lead to points.

We need to score touchdowns in order to beat the Saints. We can't settle for field goals like the Colts game.

this game depends on our secondary, plain and SIMPLE!!!

if they play like have this whole season, expect to see 60+ points
on the board in this game.

think they cant do that in our park? what passing offense have we "stopped"?

we couldnt even get a pick off of a rookie mark sancheez! the teams that played
him before and after us both got multiple picks.

we couldnt scrounge up one. and we could only manage one measely sack also.

that wont cut it agaisnt drew brees. not at all. he is not sancheez.

our pass rush and our db's better get it together because we CAN NOT SCORE
point to point with the saints. yes, we can control the clock, but when teams
like the colts can just walk out and get into the endzone in 5 plays it doesnt
matter.

we do all the work, they do all the scoring.

dont worry about henne. worry about this sleepy secondary!!

This game is going to be on Joey Porter & JT.

If we can't pressure Brees we lose, it's that simple.

Henne could be 22 for 22 with 3 TD's, but we will still lose the game if the defense doesn't limit Brees and company.

Anybody that thinks the outcome of this game rests on 1 player is fooling themselves. To win, we will have to have a complete TEAM victory.

Well, your right. He's our Quarterback and hes going to have to play well in order for us to win. Just as he did against the Jets. However the same exact thing could be said about any part of our game. Running backs recievers secondary etc. This is stacking up to be a very tough game.
