Let the fans pick the 7th round pick. Do a call in or hold some form of poll among all of us and allow us to pick the 7th round guy.
Now do I ever believe anything like this would happen. NO
But it would be the ultimate fan incentive. I would wager most of the guys on his board would participate. Just a fantasy really, but far from reality.

TERRIBLE IDEA.

We, the fans, do not know our elbows from our a-holes when it comes to this kinda stuff. Especially a 7th rounder.

Think about it, if we had that contest in place, we would have probably drafted Marcus Vick, cause everybody knows his name. We would have passed on Wright.

Bad idea.

Very creative idea. Instead of "American Idol" we can have a "Finheaven Draft" that would be pretty sweet. Like you said, pretty much fantasy though. But I do like the creativity.

highlarious!

Better chance of calling a preseason play. Now that would be something.

When you see the triple reverse, flea flicker, statue of liberty, fumblerooskie, you'll know I've got some serious clout!!!

There could be safeguards put in place to address completely

stupid selections. It could even be from a list of names provided by the team.

That list would never be circulated.

Good idea in theory, i see where your going.

How would it work? Im thinking a poll with X amount of players. The player with the most amount of selections left on the board is who they would pick?

Yeah, this is complete fantasy, but would be interesting...

I don't agree with other posters who claim we are ignorant. I see evidence that guys put a lot of thought into drafting.

While there are some who really don't have a clue...

there are more than you think who could make a decent choice. I disagree with you.

We're not the average fan. The average fan is going to take the highest profile guy on the board. Often, that will be some guy who probably shouldn't even be on a pro team who comes from The U, FSU, or that big state university that sucks at producing pro WRs.

Not that this will ever happen, but there could be safeguards put into place to

prevent the casual participation. You could even pay a fee to do this, and the average fan wouldn't spend a dime.

I agree 100% with the above statement. There's no way to weed out the casual fan.

As for your pay proposal, what's to stop stupid people from paying the fee?

Nothing, and we will never have to worry about this

ever happening. It is just a thought, and if for some reason they ever considered something like this, I guarantee you there would be safeguards put in place. Probably a single winner who gets to participate in the draft with the team and won some sort of information competition to demonstrate some knowledge. I dont know. Fantasy is fantasy. Nice to think about.

I hear you. If I'm gonna fantasize about the draft, I'd have Saban invite me into the war room. I'd just want to observe. I know what I don't know, you know?

And then after the draft me and Saban woule eat pizza on his back porch with Ricky and we'd smoke and then watch Revenge of the Nerds II. Then eat some ice cream and find some of those fine ladies Ricky keeps on impregnating...yeah, that's my draft fantasy.

That is quite funny, and to some maybe I nightmare. I think Saban is a godsend for this franchise, but to tell you the truth, he frightens me. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near the war room. I've gotten dirty looks from him in the hallways already. I think he loathes the financial people...

How did I know Greatwade would respond to my fantasy?

Oh yeah, Saban scares the crap outta me as well. But in my fantasy, he shows his gentler side.
