I have a few question i want to ask and get off of my chest (sorry if others posted these as well)

1. The running back situation (i know we're pretty solid there). But lets see we have Ronnie Brown who can run up the middle and run routes and catches the ball very nicely. Then IF ricky comes back we have the over powering back (hopefully if he plays as he did before his retirement) and he can also run to the outside with his speed and cut the corners, now do u see us signing a smaller more shifty running back to change the pace of the game or do we think Travis Minor can get the job done...now for those who love Kay-Jay Harris (i like him too) but i just don't see him contributing that much and if u look at his college stats he really only had one or 2 really good games...

2. The secondary...now that we know McQuaters isn't coming to Miami and no one really knows the health of Ty Law what other corners do you see the Dolphins going after to fill the voids of Poole and Surtain (sad to see him go still can't believe it)?

3. I think if we play a hybrid 3-4 than i think that we are fine at the D-line possions but in case teams start running the ball on us and we need to switch to the 4-3 than we have a bunch of DT combinations we can put in there to help stop the run, but i know we need one more big run stopping DT do ya'll think that kid in the supplemental draft can get it do or can we just us Vickerson who got drafted in the real draft?

4. Now that Boston signed with the dolphins again i think that the team really should let feeley start and see what he can do. Feeley now has an awesome recieving core and maybe can do some damage (maybe i'm taking it to the extreme) but i really see him doing well in this offense. If the line blocks and i hope it does Feeley could put up soe numbers like Drew Brees did last season. What do ya'll think?

Thanks for taking the time to read and answer my question.

1) We aren't going to sign any other backs unless there is a catastrophe with injuries(God forbid). It's hard to imagine Minor making the team, but you never know. Alot of people are infatuated with Kay Jay, but he has a lot of competition in camp and there was a reason he went undrafted. He isn't THAT good. Some people are saying he has a chip on his shoulder and will want to prove himself. But chips on shoulders doesn't equate into success. If Lamar Gordon can stay healthy, he is a decent thrid back.

2) There aren't many corners out there right now. I believe Terrell Buckley is still available. He's got some age on him, but he'd make a good nickel corner. There still may be some more cuts.

3) We may go the route of the supplemental draft. We are in dire need of another DT. I think Norman Hand is available. He is a good run stuffer. I don't think Saban initially planned on playing as much 3-4 as alot of people thought, but we may not have much choice but to play a little more now. Problem is, most of our LBs don't fit the 3-4 mold. So we'll be hurt to some degree one way or the other. We NEED to sign another DT. And I'm sure we will.

4) I don't have as much confidence in Feeley as some people do. He is a slow learner (he took a long time to learn our vanilla offense last year and this one is much more complicated and the terminology is going to be much different)and he is not a good practice player(historically). If he doesn't step it up in practice, he will definetly lose out to Gus who already knows the system, has a good arm, and has played well in the past. He played well in this offense in his limited action with the Vikes and he made the Pro Bowl before. He is sporadic, but he comes up with big plays. (and occasional dumb plays). If AJ wows the coaches, he could slip past Gus. But he has his work cut out for him.

1) travis did it for Ricky so he could do it for Ronnie. Remember in Week 5, RW will be back.

2) Surtain and Poole have been 'replaced' by Edwards and Daniels. I think we need another CB... maybe Roundtree?!?

3) I like Manny Wright and hope that we get him. The skinny on Vickerson is that he is coachable and is a project but he could be good with some coaching.

4) I think Feeley should start... whether or not he will remains to me seen. All things point to Frerotte because of the O and the dismisal of Spielman.

Ronnie Brown is the complete package. We are just going to use Ricky to ease Brown int carrying the full load. It will take the early milage off of Brown. Gordan and Kay Jay will battle for the 3rd down back spot, and I can live with that. The competition will bring out the best of both backs.

We do need another corner and DT. However, big run stuffing DTs can emerge in Training camp from the practice squad. Other than that we are set on the D-line. JT, Kevin Carter, Traylor, Holliday, D. Bowens, Chester if he returns.

Corner is where the problem lies. We need another quality Corner. But our problems could be worse. We still have Madison, Howard, and Daniels.

The running back situation is loaded Brown, williams,Gordon more than enough to get the job done. I don't see us bringing in another RB except for maybe injuries.

The secondary concerns me.....I think Saban will address this corner position in the draft....he has to....get them young keep them for years....his philosophy.

You damn right we need a big run stopping DT, and we need him like yesterday. I think Saban will plug someone in here this year and look to the draft next year or possibility a young good FA if there are any.

I see people using words to describe our receiving core as great/awesome...I think our receiving core is adequate. IMO Boston and Booker are not long term solutions to this position, I think Saban should take a WR in next years draft and develop him for the long term.

Im more worried about the secondary than anything else.

The biggest challange will be a new system on both sides of the ball.
I think some underestimate the receiving core, we had no offense last year, lets face it, it was bad,so if you think of the talent we have now plus coaching, we should be significantly better.
Booker went to the probowl playing for the Bears who were crap.
Our defence was never good enough to win when we had to, so a change should help.
The Fins will a treat to watch this year, I can't wait.

My take...

The RB situation, as you mentioned is solid even w/o RW. You didn't even mention Gordon...Brown, Gordon and KJ are all about the same in style and size, except that Brown is clearly the better of the three and has better pass recieving skills. I see RW and Brown in the same backfield giving better pass options to AJ. Brown can pound it up the middle or take a swing pass...either way...RW can get to the corner (Brown probably can too). RW is still an IF situation, but we'll be fine with or w/o him. KJ may be destined to the PS as he is very similar to Gordon and Brown. I don't see us keeping Minor...he hasn't actually shown much (to me), but he is a little shiftier than the other backs we have and Linehan is adept at using multiple backs and different types of backs in his offense.

CB...I think T. Daniels was drafted by Saban thinking more of a safety than a CB, but since the injury to Poole, we are thin..our starters are ok (Madison and Howard), but who'll be the nickle and dime guys is anyones question. I see us possibly looking to someone, perhaps off the waiver wire at the end of TC unless someone becomes available before. BArring injury, we'll be better at CB than at safety IMO...Tillman hasn't proven anything in his career yet. Jones is probably a level below Knight (who I thought was a real weak spot, at least in Wanny's D.) Bell has been a bright spot in TC, but can't seem to keep healthy...he'd solidify and perhaps push Tillman if he stays healthy. Bua is a project, but we can't forget that Saban's specialty is the secondary...so he may see something that we don't...I just think that Bua will prove to be too slow for even the SS spot.

DL...I'm not too sold on Wright...I know he played at SC under Carroll and had a decent year, but he wasn't a starter, he was a backup. If we choose him in the 4th round or later, fine...but not before...our need isn't that desperate. Carter and Traylor will be our DTs in the 4-3 base set with perhaps Chester (if healthy) rotating in. Then there is Zgoninia and Romero as well. If a vet comes free this summer, I'm sure we'd look, but it would have to be a vet minimum guy for Saban to jump on it. DE we are pretty strong, if Roth develops as we all seem to think he will. With Bowens, JT and Holliday and Flemons we are strong there for a rotation if needed in the base set. In the times that we go to the 3-4 sets, the DL would probably be JT, Traylor, Carter. Bowens, Holliday, JT or Roth could be as a standup OLB, but we have Crowder, Seau, ZT and Spraghan as a decent lineup...I see Bowens on the outside looking in if he doesn't restructure (although he may have already, I could be behind on that). I'd like to see another Tim Bowens in the middle to groom as Traylor's replacement, but we'll have to see. Again, we could be looking real hard at the TC waiver wires...

QB....AJ will have an improve OL ( according to everyone..I'm not completely sold since we only added McDougle for the RT spot and that was the one position that I thought played decently all season long...St. Clair). Big Mac should be better at LT this year after his ankle surgery last year. AJ will have a real offensive scheme and real OC instead of the jokes we had last year. He showed flashes of ability last year, especially towards the end when the OL played slightly better...It'll be up to him to make it happen. But at least, he'll have some other tools around him this year. As far as Boston...his potential is undeniable, but I still have to see it before I'll believe it from him...I agree, I would hate to see Saban go back and forth with Gus and AJ...give him the reins and letum' loose...

Well, my expanded take on this...
