Why did we not attempt any depe throws? A.J. has a stronger, more accurate arm than we have had since Danny Boy, and yet in his first game, we completely go awya from what should be a strength. I know Wanny said we called deep pass plays, but I only saw one deeply thrown ball, and it was to Booker who was double covered ( while Feeley was running ).

I know th eprotection sucked, but why not max protect and try to fire it downfield to Chambers? Let him out jump the coverage for one? I would have tried it over and over again. It was obvious the running game wasn't going to work so we had to go to the air. I just never understood why we didn't test the speed of their secondary and take advantage of Feeley's clear advantage over Fiedler. Fiedler oculd have made eveyr one of those passes last night ( especially the int  ).

I want to see us come out firing the ball downfield next game.

Wanny just said in his press conference that they had planned more deep passes than ever before but that there just wasnt enough time to complete them.

Yea he said he "called" not just planned the deep throws. The plays just could not develop.

That is what I am saying though, I know they called them but not once did I see Randy and the running backs stay in and block while Booker, Chambers and Thomspn go down the field. We may have had some guys go deep, but we had Randy in the flat one way and Gordon as the dump off the other way, allowing that pourus O-line to get a terain ridden on it all night long. Had we kept a couple more blockers in maybe we would have had more time. Theismann said the same thing. That is what I am getting at. Why not the adjustment?
