I have no doubt in my mind we wanted Barden and that's why the NYG traded up

Seems likely. I'd be surprised if we'd rated Turner over Barden, so I too am guessing that Miami was disappointed when NYG snatched him right in front of us.

Dead on. I am almost positive that the Gnats moved up to beat us to him.

I am not too high on Turner but hope he works out. Hopefully we get our 4th rounder right....Duke Robinson or Scott McKillop.

Herm Edwards has it right IMO. Turner is a role player. He is that big WR the phins needed.

Trojan QB's after Carson Palmer have not exactly been something to fear. They are a products of a system. Mustain, however, will change that.

All things being equal, Turner played in a pro style offense at USC and and Barden played in a run oriented spread option D3 school.... hmm. Tough Choice? NOT!

Honestly, Turner is the guy I wanted if we couldn't get Barden. I'm still kind of mad about the Gnats sniping us, though.

I'm more pissed that the Eagles let them move up to take our guy. It was obvious that the Eagles/Vikings had no interest in WR after going that route Day 1. I could almost picture Barden in a Fins uni, god damn you Giants. You shall pay.

If that's the case than Ireland and Parcells have are being taken to school as they idly sit and wait while they're targeted players get snatched up before our eyes.

It sure seems like where telegraphing our moves. It's probably no secret that we had players rated similarly to teams like the Giants and Patriots. Really my hats off to Jerry Reese, he's been putting on a clinic, picking the draft we should have had. No doubt Turner was a consolation prize and that's what happens when you set yourself up to draft for need...teams know what you're going to do. Oh well, you knows maybe we got the better pro, but as of today, Ireland needs to get off his pedestal and reevaluate the science of drafting. Scouting is one thing, moxie in the war room is an entirely different animal.

i swear i was thinking the same thing f ing giants. They already had NICKS!

the giants THOUGHT we wanted barden, there's no doubt whatsoever... but did the dolphins really wanted barden ? that's another question left unanswered...

Of course we wanted Barden, It's unfortunate the Giants got him though, because then we ended up reaching for Turner.. And Hartline....

i thought the Pat Turner pick came in quick myself.

Second, we went right to this kid first at the Senior Bowl and took him aside before anyone else. So think what you want to! The truth is only as you see it!

Parcells likes taking small school players...late in the second day. Between Turner and Hartline, there's a pretty clear profile of what the 'phins were looking for: athletically talented guys from big schools who for whatever reason hadn't utilized their abilities to their fullest.

Personally I think Barden comes across as a little soft, and not quite as dominant as his speed and size should have made him in the FCS.
