Ginn, Bess, and Camarillo have maxed out. We've seen all we're going to see from them, and they're not getting any better.

- Bess isn't going get any faster.

- Camarillo is also slow, and will be lucky just to return to his pre-knee injury form.

- Ginn will always play scared, and will never become a Larry Fitzgerald / Oronde Gadsden type player who wins jump balls in traffic. Ginn will catch 1 long pass each year, but otherwise be a mediocre receiver.

In limited preseason & regular season action, Brian Hartline has shown some good potential. He has shown the ability to burn a CB deep and catch a deep pass in stride, turn a short pass into a long gain, and make some tough catches. I know he's still raw, and has dropped a few balls. But I think that he's the only WR on our roster that has the upside potential to be a complete player.

(btw, I'm not very high on Patrick Turner. I think that at best, he'll be a possession receiver. In fact, if you look at all the college/preseason/regular season highlights for all our WRs, Ginn & Hartline are the only ones who ever burn CBs deep, and catch a deep ball in stride for a TD. I'm excluding situations with completely blown coverages.)

U dont start upside. U start talent. That is why Hartline should start, because he is the best talent we have for a 1.

I think Hartline earned himself a ton of PT yesterday. I was particularly impressed with his burst on the quick hitter yesterday. Even though they caught him at the 4 yard line, it showed he has NFL speed. He reminds me (if he continues to improve of course) of McCaffery (sp?) from Denver from a few years back. Shows good intelligence and instincts with some pretty good athleticism to boot.

I agree. Hartline should start for his talent. But his starting will get me excited because I'm excited to see his upside.

I just saw this..

..Sparano, meanwhile, said you can expect more playing time for Brian Hartline, who caught three passes for 94 yards. (Obviously, the player whose snaps will be diminished when Hartline's are increased should be Ginn, but Sparano did not say that.)

"With me," Sparano said, "how you play in the game kind of merits whether you should play more and I think Brian played good enough yesterday to merit playing more."..

So hopefully we'll see more Brian Hartline.

I really hope Hartline takes Ginn's spot. Hartline is a better route runner and a better blocker.

i agree i think we need to give Hartline and Turner a try in the game what is it really going to hurt to see what they can do

we should let Hartline take some kicks back.he was pretty good at OSU when he got his chances. On topic though, benching Ginn is starting become more and more appearant to this FO.Ginn is nothing more than a home-run threat, which is your ideal #3rd WR.

Hopefully Hartline can get just a *little* faster. I loved what I saw from him and I know he almost scored, but I just wish he did score.

I will forever be grateful to Camarillo for scoring a TD in OT to prevent Miami from going 0-16 in 2007, but what the hell was he thinking by running for the sidelines and then throwing the ball out of bounds (although a questionable flag) with over 2 minutes left. Clearly a situation he should have been going for yardage and not the sidelines.

At this point, I don't care what Turner's issues are he can't do any worse than Ginn. Make him active. Or even re-sign London...again can't do any worse than Ginn.

haha completely agree with all of this

Ginn hasn't been good, but there are worse receivers out there, this I am sure. But something tells me Sparano knows that those two guys fall under that category - just a hunch.

Sparano will never throw a player under the bus. But quietly i would like to see Hartline start. even if he isn't listed as the starter he should warrant most of the snaps between Ginn and him.

Camarillo didn't play too badly, he did get separation and make some plays. The league is littered with players who don't possess Ginn type speed but simply make plays. And we need Wrs who make plays. Sometimes Speed can be an overrated asset. I'd rather have a guy who can catch everything thrown his way, can make a guy miss, than a guy who possesses raw speed, but lacks that football acumen.

I would like to see Hartline get more action too. Maybe his habit of cutting in instead of out keeps him off the field.
