I just compared Suh's stats to Odrick

Only way Odrick stays is if his market is horrendous and he signs to a very slight pay raise that is cap friendly which I doubt

I don't think you can compare them like that, maybe pff has some run stop and pass rush rankings but from what I understand suh isn't about the stats, its about the guys beside and behind him having a better opportunity to disrupt plays because suh commands so much attention.

Was just curious from an on paper standpoint of production.

Suh has double the tackles and sacks but then I realized he played 1 more year as JO was out his first year.

Any way we retain both?

1 season is not enough to excuse that huge gap. Go ahead and add his averages of all 4 season of odrick as an extra season and he still doesn't come close. Their last seasons are not even remotely comparable, or both of their 4th seasons. There really is no comparison.

Odrick is averaging 25 tackles and 4 sacks a season. If we were to multiply those by 4 like if he played 4 more season it would total to 100 tackles and 16 sacks. Add those numbers with his current numbers and you get 229 tackles and 32 sacks in 8 seasons(4 seasons added based on his averages) in comparison to SUH's 239 takles and 36 sack IN JUST 5 SEASONS

Overall | Run D | Rush | Rank

Suh: +27.5 | +18.1 | +14.8 | #3 / 132

Odrick: +9 | +1 | +7.3 | #21 / 132

This is for 2015.

2013 Suh was #2, 2012 #4.

I could see Starks on a one year but this draft is deep in DT. You can get one late. cheap. they will play.

Suh is double teamed and game planned around...Odrick goes against a single blocker while Wake gets the double team.

Wake, Veron, and Suh...you can't double team all three and if they can figure out how to use Jordan that leaves two prime pass rushers to be one on one blocking.

Too bad Coyle wouldn't know what to do with them

As mentioned, Suh is game planned around and double and triple teamed. Other than Watt, no one else in the league commands that kind of attention from the interior of a defensive line.

This.

Suh brings far more than just what the stats say. I seriously doubt Odrick has faced the constant double and triple teams that Suh has.

Suh is probably double teamed more often than Odrick. I would say that Suh will make the players around him better by drawing more attention.

Suh is elite. Odrick is an above average starter ( despite what his detractors say). That is a big difference. Guys like Suh make everone better. Odrick is the type of player that can contribute when he is part of a good overall defense, but not a difference maker.
