This roster has holes top to bottom. Especially when we get rid of the older players and underperforming ones, which needs to happen. Sort of an exfoliation.

Think about it. We already have holes at: QB, Backup QB, LG, Center, RG, Tight End, Backup LT, Backup RT, Backup Guard, Boundary Corner, Defensive End, Defensive Tackle, Outside Linebacker, and linebacker depth, cornerback depth.

After we cut Robert Quinn, Cameron Wake, Frank Gore, Ted Larsen, Josh Sitton, Ziggy Hood, Davante Parker, Ryan Tannehill, Brock Osweiler, and possibly Danny Amendola

We will have more cap space, but even more holes. Basically, if you are a coaching candidate, you only have this to truly build upon:

Minkah Fitzpatrick, Laremy Tunsil, Kenyan Drake, Jakeem Grant, Kenny Stills, Xavien Howard, and maybe off of injured reserve next year Albert Wilson and Vincent Taylor. You also need to decide if you want to pay your right tackle a truckload of money because his contract is up.

No QB, with upgrades required on most Oline positions, Wide receiver, Defensive line, pass rusher(s), linebacking core which is substandard, and defensive back.

Do you honestly think it makes any sense to trade draft picks for John Harbaugh under these circumstances? Do you really think that you will get the top tier candidates interested for this job?

I think Ross finally has it right, we need a total rebuild, but that also means, we will probably be really bad for the next 2 to 3 years, which means the next coach is either just a stepping stone until the roster is reconstructed, or someone who can handle or even thrive under these challenging circumstances.

With that in mind, who do you really think would be the right fit for the next coach of this team?

Every team has holes, but a good QB and coaching mask them.

We have none of those things. My point Is that it is not a good idea to entertain trading picks for a coach like John Harbaugh when we need our picks to build our roster more. My point is that the top head coaching candidates would probably not have Miami high on their list, nor would they necessarily be the best fits for this job under these circumstances so it’s kind of unrealistic to fantasize about some of these guys because they have better options. My point is that the next coach is either just a stepping stone and doesn’t matter that much because of the massive reconstruction project we are about to undertake, or it has to be a candidate who can handle and survive losing for 3 years.

For example, if I’m a hot head coaching candidate, I’m looking at the QB, and the pieces I have to build upon, and the cupboard is bare. Let’s talk QB. How are we going to address that? Do you think Teddy Bridgewater will want to come anywhere near this situation with this Oline? It’s not the worst thing in the world to finish 1 and 15 next year and be able to draft Tua Tagovailoa in 2020 is it? So, who should be our next coach?

It's a major rebuild. Obviously, quarterback is job number one, but the front office may have to wait a year and find a stopgap.

I hope Grier and company are smart enough to put major resources into both lines. It's a real good draft for the defensive line and that's where I'd concentrate in 2019.

Reshad, baker, mcmillan, ballage, mccain, godchaux in addition to what you mentioned.

If recovered, sitton, kilgore, hayes

Starting lineup is not as holed as you think.

The depth however...

Sitton is too old, other players are just average NFL starters, nothing special, Kilgore is to old and injured, neither Sitton nor Kilgore should be in our future, and the starting lineup on both sides of the ball is like Swiss cheese dude.

Every coach cleans house his first year, and more his second year, and a bit more his third. Yeah, there's going to be massive turnover with a new coach, and you're probably right about some of the casualties. But that's par for the course. When you bring in a new head coach to a team, the team is usually bad or terminally mediocre. We're the latter. So yeah, there will be a purge of older players and players who do not show loyalty to the new regime and players who do not fit the new coach's system. It's inevitable.

In this poor QB draft I just hope we don't reach for the next Christian Ponder or Blaine Gabbert. Yeah, it's that kind of draft. Timing … oh well.

One good thing about drafting those qbs it doesn’t take seven years to move on.

Under a new coaching regime, you don’t really know what you have in players. Look at the Rams and how they turned their season around with just a new head coach. Todd Gurley and Goff were garbage with Fisher and now look at them.

I think this team has a lot of good talent and with the proper coaches, other players could develop too. And if you get a good enough QB, they make players around you better as well. Look at the Browns roster too, they were garbage with Hue and then once Hue left, the Browns were very competive.

I have no idea who we should hire and honesty, no one is a sure fire pick for HC. Just have to make the best educated choice and hope it pans out.
