i frankly like ireland, and i actually like how he may play this off season close the vest.
what i have noticed thats funny, are his latest quotes being taken completly out of context, and getting fans thinking things will go a certain way - most people will probably be dissappointed on draft day/FA period if things dont go as they've read - maybe like the whole Mallet b.s. when watching the full interviews it is obvious that ireland has actually indicated little, while the media puts words in his mouth. just found it interesting.
On Being "obsessed" with finding a QB - Reporter asked him "how obsessed are you with finding a QB" ireland says, we need to upgrade and get over the hump so of course we are to an extent "obsessed" with a qb, we are looking at a few people.
ON "Absolutely" wanting to upgrade the TE position - He was asked how much he would love to have a play making TE like finley etc. he said "well of course id absolutly like to have a guy like that, (like asking hey, would you like a private jet?) we have some guys we are developing and an established fasano who does a fine job - but you see how these guys are in the playoffs, IF we find any guys like that we will TAKE A LOOK AT THEM"
on what kind of key players he is looking at - he specifically points at the guy asking the TE question and says "my and your definition of key players may be different but i am looking for key players of course"
these interviews 1 on the miamidolphins site and one on miami herald are much different when taken in context.
now, i give the media credit for trying to increase credibility and excitment within the fanbase etc, and i think that ireland really may be looking to do any of these things - but dont think ireland has changed over night or is directly on par with the fan base's wishes, he is doing what they all do in that parcells/bellicheck vien, and he is just giving us all the run around, for better or worse. so dont get too hyped up.
