I like Mando's thinking here, but too bad it will never happen

He must be reading FH. There have been quite a few posts floating this idea days ago. Hey Mando what your screen name?

I said this yesterday. He copy me..lmao..

I'm pretty sure it has to be a team's "original" first round pick . . . I don't believe it is as easy as trading with the Giants, getting #32 overall, and then signing Mike Wallace to an offer sheet.

And I wonder where Mando thinks we are getting the money to give Mike Wallace 10 to 12 million a year?

Wallace is only 25 though!

I may stand corrected but I don't believe it has to be your own first rounder.

It doesn't.

just a first round pick and then they would have to pay him the salary he wants on top of that though. Basically, that would be there draft pick, and whatever they can get out of the trade back would be a bonus. Probably a better idea than trading up (and losing picks) for Blackmon in the long-term though.

I understand that, he is a very explosive WR. Where is the money coming from to sign a WR to a 12 million dollar a year contract . . . because that is what Mike Wallace will command.

This may or may not be true, I don't know. Bigger question is, what team is gonna trade w/ Miami prior to April 20th (the final day RFA's need to sign their tender) w/o knowing what is on the board when they draft a week later? It's not like this can be a draft day deal. They would have to do a sign and trade with the Steelers . . . a different process from giving Wallace an offer sheet and having the Steelers match it.

I here ya, but the steelers were 20 mill over the cap and now they have about 10 mill so they took off bout 30 mill. The cards think that they can get PM and they are over bout 15 mill, so it is possible.

Oh yea, for Peyton Manning . . . a QB that can change your franchise for the next few years, you can get guys to buy in and restructure and you cut guys, etc. Plus you aren't giving up a first round pick to get him either. To give up a first round pick, and pay a WR 12 million a year w/o a sure thing at QB and expect other guys to comply . . . I think that is asking for too much. I know we need a WR, but I'd be upset at that deal.

I mean Cam Wake makes 600,000 this year . . . why should we keep neglecting our hardest worker on defense, pay a WR 20 times the amount that he makes and still have question marks about the guy who can get him the ball?

I hated the idea ever since it has come up and yet people still wanna ride with it. I for one hope our FO isn't thinking like this.
