He's a feisty guy, came out of Coastal Carolina, has a quick release and a live arm, he will be exciting to watch. This tells me the Fins don't have a lot of confidence in Henne, it also tells me they won't go QB in the first round next year which would cost you a chance to grab a Snead or a Bradford, or even a McCoy. For this year Thigpen should make you a little more respectable in the passing game, but the field general stuff is out, he can get them there deep but he will also hurt you with INT's. Henning needs to make Thigpen work the dink and dunk first and then open it up, it should be fun though.

The Jets are still stumping Miami Monday night, we will be pissed after losing to N.O and will want to take it out on somebody and that's Miami.

This tells me that mgmt wanted a backup QB with playing experience just in case Henne is injured .

Can you imagine throwing White to the wolves...I think not

Thigpen is a competitor to White's role, not Henne's. If we brought in Garcia, Quinn, Anderson, Brohm, etc., THEN I'd say they didn't have confidence in Henne. They're giving Henne his shot.

And it's not that they don't have confidence in White, it's just he's not ready to contribute *this* year in the way they had hoped. An entire portion of their offense will go to waste because of that, but Thigpen allows them to do what they had originally planned.

Looking at Thigpen's success, he can absolutely be competition to Henne next season - maybe even late this season - depending on how Henne performs.

Put it this way: if Henne puts up the numbers in his second season (first season starting games) that Thigpen did in his second season (first starting), we'd be pretty happy.

Amazing we trade for a guy to be a backup and people act like is because they have no faith in Henne. It would seem to be stating that White is not ready to be backup.

Wow, people are looking WAY too much into this. We just needed a 3rd string QB. That's all. If I'm wrong, feel free to quote me. But as usual, a whooooole lot of something is probably being made of nothing.

i disagree, the coaching staff made it clear they have a lot of confidence in Henne, they don't have a lot of confidence in pat white, so they brought in a backup. they say that white just isn't ready to be a backup yet

3rd string guy... actually projects 2nd string and protects P White... White is a blue chip prospect...

it tells me that they only had 2 QB's in their team and needed a third. It tells me they wanted a backup behind Henne. It tells me you just got that information from wikipedia or that nfl.com article
