I don't know that anyone cares, but with the horrid officiating and the claims of the league being fixed, I figured I'd look at the historical success of the four remaining AFC East teams to see if there was any data to support this. I started in '66, and compared the win percentages, division titles and overall playoff appearances.

It looks like we are still paying for the sins of the past, in that if this game we love is fixed, they seem to be somewhat fair over the long haul. Sadly, I was born in the wrong decade, and assume this will swing back our way in the 2020's. We still have the highest win % over that time, so I'm assuming the next couple of years we're still going to have to pay for it. Same goes for the overall playoffs appearances.

The data shows we were clearly the team of the 70's and arguably the 80's, the Jets were the given the 60's and were thrown a few bones in the 00's, the Bills were given the 90's, and of course the Pats have been given the last 15 years. Looks like the NFL will continue to lean the Pats way until Brady and Belichick retire. Let's hope we draft a story that the NFL falls in love with in the next couple of years and can take over as the favored team of the '20's. I believe the NFL owes us, and will be looking forward to it when they even things back out....maybe they're lining up for a 50th anniversary to the '72 perfect season.

This is more than likely the aimless ramblings of an over obsessed fan, but the book 'Interference: How Organized Crime Influences Professional Football (1989)' was an interesting read. Here's hoping the NFL gives us the roaring '20's!!!!

Only the Cowboys, Bears and Packers have a higher winning percentage all-time than the Dolphins. Luckily I saw the Phins during their Superbowl years during first and second grade. :woot: Still a fan 40+ years later.

Sadly I was born in '86 so I missed all the good stuff. Got hooked on Marino and I've stayed loyal like he did.

Born in '91. So my earliest memories were of the last few years of Dan Marino. My football fandom has been a joke for my entire life.
