Davone Bess is a
badly needed "steal" from last year's college crop. Undrafted free agent. I think he might have been a big receiver at USC or somewhere if he got the breaks.
He's definitely overcome a lot of adversity in his life. He's one of those kids on the block that would work ten times as hard on the stuff he likes doing when someone tells him he can't do it. That's what you call "fire in the belly". Heart. Dedication. Persistence. Hard work. If Davone sets a goal, there's a damn good chance he's gonna reach it ... one way or another.

Bess is a super quick kind of receiver. He reminds me a bit of Steve Smith with the Panthers. Davone and Steve Smith have a similar background actually. Davone's got pretty good hands. He obviously focuses well. He's not afraid to block like a madman and take the big hits catching the ball. Once he's got the ball he's got the acceleration and quickness to get plenty of YAC (yards after catch). Man, I hope he has a good game tomorrow. He's not well known in the NFL just yet. Other teams might underestimate him like when we had Wes Welker. He could be a dangerous "secret weapon". :D
