We criticize Daunte because he was not ready for minicamp and not sure if he will be ready for the next one. We also criticize Chambers because of people saying he drops too many balls. Then we take a player with both problems.

Well with the first round pick of our draft we take Ginn who could not participate in the combine and only could run the 40 at his pro workout. Ginn is very raw at receiver and does have not great hands either. Now I do understand both of the vets make alot of money but its not like Ginn will be making minimum wage. So he doesn't need to be at these camps even though he has been reported as only having ran three routes and its ok to take a WR high that has suspect hands. I personally think Ginn was worth taking high, just not over Quinn who reflected a huge need but I find it funny the way we seem to spin anything to fit what player you like and which ones you don't.

Everything is about Daunte with you isn't it man.

Hypocrisy is closely related to hope in this instance. Would you rather people just remain in a funk and tear eachother and the Dolphins apart?

thats true, and most teams do this, unfortunately.

what scares me is whenever we pass on a qb, he seems to be the next big thing and ends up in the pro bowl, brees, green, hasselbeck, etc....

and now its probably quinn.

No, but he was part of my point. I hope we keep Daunte because Green is not the answer and if Pep canot play let Lemon and Beck fight it out, hopefully the rookie second rounder can beat out the undrafted free agent.

If we get Green also... is Lemon gone?
Cpep looks to be staying.

I think if we get Green that Lemon would be gone unless Pepp does not recover. I have never been impressed with Lemon and love the people that thought he was better than River's on this board.

We did not sign Ginn to play WR. He is a return man that also plays wideout. He is Hester, Hall, and Howard type of player. Like Cameron said he give us five downs on offense. If we were looking for a pure receiver at that pick it would not have been him.

Well then Chicago is much smarter than us if thats the case because they drafted that guy in the second. I thought he was the one that said that ridiculous statement. I guess we never had a punt return in our gameplan before lol. he definately better be a major plan in our receiving corps.

Honestly I'm not that upset if Ginn doesn't give us 60 catches and 10 TDs his rookie year, because i would hope that our receiving corps is better this year without him. If Chambers can get out of the funk he's in, we've seen that he can be a #1 receiver. Booker has always been a solid #2 and I think with a year under his belt Hagan will be a very respectable #3. All we really should need this year is for Ginn to be that fast guy we bring in every once in a while to confuse the D and switch things up. Then once Ginn develops a year or 2 down the line he can be our #2 or 3 with Chambers and Hagan when Booker gets released/traded/retires. For now I'm quite content with the possibility of actually returning a few kicks/punts for TDs this year.

The way I see it, we will probably get Ginn & Beck for about the same price as what Cleveland is going to pay for Quinn. And Quinn will probably hold out of training camp to get the money.

We shall see. We have not done well with draft picks.

I share your sentiment here. Something just seems fishy to me that looking back on it, we could have had Quinn at 9 and Jarrett/Kalil at 40 - it just seems like that would have better suited us getting a QB and a pure WR as we already have Az Hakim who could handle the return duties.

I realize the FO had Beck rated higher (I'm not sure why) but I have to wonder if maybe they've been banking on Daunte Culpepper from the beginning. I wasn't very high on Culpepper and thought he was as good as gone had we drafted Quinn. Now I almost hope he's the guy and that he gets healthy by training camp.

Hey FH. New to the board/team and excited to be here.

Have to say that I am a converted Phins fan after sitting 3rd row last year for the Phins-Bills fiasco. First NFL game and fan for life. Unfortunately it was one of the worst games I have ever seen played by Miami. The decision to become a Dolphins fan was made easier with the draft as I have been watching Beck play for the last 4 years. This kid has been through a lot and has come out on top this year. Prior to the 2006 season, this kid was picked apart by fans at QB U. Constantly punished for every single mistake whether it was his or not. Went through coaching changes and finally brought it all together this last year to have an amazing season. Beck is a work-a-holic. There will be no one on this team that tries harder than he will. He will make sure of it. He is confident and lets his play lead the team. He has always been an extreme student of the game and studies more than any QB I have ever watched. During one game this year, a CB picked him off (and this was a CB drafted from UNLV this past draft), and it irked JB so much that he went up to the guy after the game and asked him how he intercepted that pass. The guy told him that he was lucky and guessed on the play and was just in the right place at the right time. Beck takes everything to heart and learns from everything he does. He is a perfectionist and it will show.

I have no idea if this guy will pan out or not. Of all of the QB's drafted each year, not all of them are stars. If Beck succeeds for Miami, it will be because he earns it. He will be the smartest QB on the field no matter what, and oh yeah, has incredible athletic gifts to go along with it.

Proud to be a new FH member and Phins fan from here on!
