Just heard that Lorenzo Booker is tearing it up at the Eagles camp!!!

He was starting to make play towards the end of the season and looked real shifty. I really wanted to kep him. What did they give us or him? A 3rd?

We received a 4th round draft pick for Lorenzo Booker.

LoBo looking good in practice is nothing new. He was "breaking ankles" on a nearly daily basis here.

I was disappointed to see him go but didn't fit what the new regime is looking for in a running back.

Booker was never going to make it in a Parcells/Sparano team. By the way, it is just practice, if he tears it up in real games then we can start to debate more.

Hey thats what we do, we let our stars go. Booker,Chambers,Welker,Thomas,Taylor oh and kinda in a way Marino when Jimmy was pushing him out the door.

I agree that he isn`t a Parcells/Sparano guy. But, watch him on the highlight reels this season!! He`ll be a solid playmaker.

he looked awsome at the end of last season, but if hes not what the tuna wants then im glad we traded him so he show off his skills instead of rotting on the bench

Booker is going to be a good player in their offense but he wasn't going to be that same type of player here. Its kinda like when Shaq went to the Suns. He's a good player, but he doesn't fit their kinda game.

Booker is going to be a GREAT player for Philly. We let him go becasue he just would not have fit into the system as a RB here. This is going to be a between the tackles running game here. That is not what Booker is about. he needs to be in space to create in the open field. So bottom line is if he is not a RB then we would have had to make him a WR. with so much ??? there we just didn't need another one. But look at it this way. We got a 4th for a guy that played 4 maybe 5 games that we used to MAYBE get our starting guard for years to come. not to bad.

Unfortunately, he wasnt going to have a large role with what we were going to do offensively. He will be a great asset for the Eagles. Both teams benefitted from this trade. But, i feel ya. I was disappointed too.

Ironically I was at Eagles camp this past weekend and Monday at Lehigh. To be honest it was nothing new he cuts well and is a great receiver out of the backfield. The play they were raving about was an end around with him in the slot where he went the distance in an team scrimmage against most of the Eagles second team D. I think we let him go too cheap maybe but there are plenty of great players in 95 degree heat against your own team in practice. They think he can be like Westbrook but he is not nearly as tough right now and can not block. Get him some minutes when his team is not 1-15 and not trailing all the time and see how he does...

We should have kept him as a receiver. From what I've heard, thats why Cam drafted him to begin with. He reminds me a lot of McDuffie, who was also a former RB.

I'm sure that if Booker has a breakout year this year, there will be a ton of people calling for Parcell's head. The truth here lies in the fact that Booker will fit very well in Andy Reid's system. We are going to be running a power running game. Booker wouldn't have fit in our backfield. I'm sure that's why we drafted Parmalee and so far, from what I've heard, he's been exceeding expectations in camp. I'm hoping that Parm. will continue to excel and serve as our "change of pace" back, if you will...

didnt we get Kendall Langford with that pick, who the trifecta LOVES?

i loved the guy, he made plays and looks like he'll be solid, but we have plenty , of RBs and it looks like we got a gem. This guy's been tearing it up, from what I've read.

That's what I was thinking.

We gotta keep it in perspective. We have Ronnie and Ricky. Barring injuries and suspensions or Ronnie getting traded, Booker was NEVER gonna be a starter here. He would always be a 3rd down guy, special teams etc....

However, with Langford, some reports are saying he might push for starter if I am not mistaken.

So we trade a 3rd down guy for someone who is impressing and could start IMO is a very good deal.

It's like Wes Welker. No matter how good a career Welker ends up having, he NEVER would have been utilized the same way or been as successful here. Same thing with Booker.

Book will be great until one of the big uglies gets a solid shot on him, then just like Westbrook he will be done, and Westbrook is much more solid but still can't seem to make it through a full season. Langford may be around for a while.
