I miss the way the draft was held on the weekend only

Ya it was great. My brother and I always had all day draft parties on that Saturday. Friends would come and go at different times.

We also didn’t have as much information at our finger tips so there was usually a lot more suspension after the first couple of picks.

The current format is understandably better for the league, but the old format was a better experience for the fans.

Agree. It used be great having it on the weekend.
Here in Tampa, they would have a 5K race starting at the stadium then everyone would go on the field after the race for water, bananas, etc. There would be vendors, music, and players would show up.
Then everyone would go home for the draft to start at 1:00.

I would guess that 95% of people on this forum would prefer the old way but everyone involved want to maximize the $$$$ out of it

they will never go back to that cause there's too much money involved. They want primetime on Thursday and Friday night.
Hey, this is better than when they used to do it all in one day and that day was Tuesday and all you could see on TV was the first round and then you had to get the paper the next day to see who your team drafted

Now your going way back 😁

Long before I became apathetic to the Dolphins ability to run a competent organization, I’d go to the local sports bar at noon on draft day Saturday and watch basically the entire first round while eating wings and drinking beer. Usually the Dolphins would draft somewhere in the middle of the first round because they were perpetually mediocre enough to miss out on blue chips, but still too good to let the board fall to them. It’s how they end up with the JuWaun James and Charles Harris’ of the world. Or get swindled into trading up for Vernon Carey when no one but the Dolphins were eyeing him.

The NFL will make taking a **** the greatest event you’ve ever seen & make tons of money talking about diarrhea w a panel of diarrhea commentators
