If Feeley is so horrible and his faults are so obvious, then why hasn't Saban noticed them or done anything about it? Why is he even in the compettition for a starting job? There are dozens of people on this MB who will tell Saban that Feeley is a waste of time so, why is Saban so stupidly insisting that AJ compete for the starting position. With his obvious faults and all, why doesn't Saban just go ahead and make him a third string emergency QB and let Sage and Gus battle it out for the starting position? Saban must be an idiot to think AJ can start in this league.

Right?

I sense your sarcasm, but we both know these QB discussions are a waste of time till the last preseason game. Then we can have a big roundtable over who Saban should start when we destroy the Bronco's..

Its not gonna matter who starts, as far as I am concerned. Both QB's have the +'s and -'s

As long as we win games I will be happy.

AJ was the incumbent starter before this season started. Had AJ already been 3rd string (were he should be), when Saban got here- things would be a little different.

I'm a Feeley advocate...

I want to see him develop this year....his natural ability is there, he just needs game experience.

I know he got some playing time last year, but we need to find out, once and for all, with Saban & Linehan's help, whether he can develop into a solid QB...

If he doesn't progress this year, then we KNOW we need another option (and not Frerotte, who's fine as a backup, but NOT a good starter....kinda like Fiedler - good backup, mediocre starter). But we must find out!!!

I think it's a legitimate question that hasn't been addressed.

there are people that will tell you they KNOW that feeley isn't going to be a good QB....I've got a list of about 25 individuals who have guaranteed that Feeley will never be anymore than teh suckage. So why can't Saban see it? Why is he letting Feeley compete for the starting QB position on a team that Saban has spent many many years looking for? He wanted absolute power so that there would be no one but himself to blame if he fails, and he's so stupid that he's going to consider a QB who MB pundits have guaranteed to be a failure, as his starting QB?

What the he// is he thinking?

So, Saban is relying on where Wannstedt had them placed on the depth chart because he doesn't know any better??

Huh?

:rolleyes2

That insinuates that Saban can't evaluate talent on his own.
:shakeno:

Right?
Mularkey wanted to see if he could fix Drew first. He later realized he couldn't. Now he's gone.

Because Gus is only a pinch ahead. So you might as well keep the fire underneath both of their *****. It isn't like we have anyone else to go to... Brock... Sage...

i dont believe Saban has really said anything. Carefully he has answered questions to the media with out saying a single thing. He's smart.... he doesn't want to mention anything that may affect Feeleys confidence.

Who starts opening day will say go far into what Saban thinks of Feeley.
