Thats it, I now KNOW that the Texans made the right decision, Michael the Pleamaker is going off on how Bush would have made the Texans instant contenders.... I was really hoping he wouldnt be back this year.... Guess the Parole board was nice to him......:shakeno:

I understand what Michael was trying to say: If both players become stars, who has the greater impact to the team. A DE that gets like 12 sacks/yr or a RB that can get 1300-1400yds and 10-15tds.

If Reggie Bush is the Lebron James of the NFL, would you pass on that?? NO!

Dominick Davis or not. The old Bobby Knight quote back in the 80's when MJ was drafted. They asked Knight who would you draft if you had the #1 pick, he said Jordan. The follow up question was, what if you don't need a guard but need a center. Knight said, then play him at center!

Bottom line is Bush was the BEST player this draft has scene in years. YEARS! The Texans made a huge blunder passing up on him. There is no logical reason to pass on him. Irvin for ONCE in his life is correct.

By your reasoning, yes the Texans most deffinatley should have picked Bush. I for one however, think Bush will not be what people expect. Mario Williams on the other hand will be a monster for years to come.

Mario Williams is a stud at his position and had an excellent combine for his position, and was the best DE and probably defensive player available.

Bush was just the best. Of ALL college players, period. He was to college football what Neo was to the Matrix. If that will translate to the NFL has yet to be seen but only very reserve haters and doubters think it won't.

Texans GM is the new Stu Inman (sp?), for those of you who know who Stu is.

It's much easier for RBs to succeed in the NFL than it is for DEs.....more instant success.

If Houston was not going to go with Bush then D'Brickashaw makes more sense, IMO. Domanick Davis is an alright player, but how much of a difference maker is he? I see it argued that the Texans have Domanick Davis who was good enough to help the Texans rank what 30th in total offense? As good as Mario Williams maybe it's much easier for a running back to have success and Williams will constantly be compared to Bush. How good was N.C. State? They had three defensive linemen taken in the 1st rd and lost to football powerhouse Wake Forest? Williams has to be the best defensive end in the league to justify the selection. If he is how much of a difference will he even make? Charlie Casserly maybe on his way out and he's going to be the skapegoat for the move.

I agree with that, and using that basis, the pick of Williams was completely justified but IMO Bush is MORE than just a running back. Drafting Williams over a James, Alexander, Ricky, Ronnie, Martin, Tomlinson may be justified, but I think Bush falls into a category higher than those guys in the prospect area.
