I now undersrand how the Jet Fan Felt in 1983

I was sitting in my parents' family room in 1983, I had taken the day off from school (I pretended to be ill) for the sole purpose of watching the draft. In those days it was not on Saturday. The same feelings were building as Marino kept falling.

I recall when Pete Rozelle walked to the podium and smiled and said the following words, " The Jets select QB.....pause.....Ken O'Brien". The poor Jet fans were near a riot.

I proceeded to bounce around the room in hysterics!! Praying we would select Marino.

I hope Quinn does not become the next Dan Marino, or it is going to be a very long 15 years.:shakeno:

I was surprised when we passed on Quinn, but I like the Beck pick. I'm not going to pass judgment on this move until two or three years down the road. I just hope it pans out for us.
