Enough people bitched about sudden death supposedly being "unfair" so they changed the rules so they would be more "fair" and now yet another game ends in a tie that wouldn't have been one under the old rules.

Love it. I laughed when Cincy missed that kick and I hope it happens again and again and again.

I have no issue with the new overtime rule. Although if u want to eliminate tie keep playing

that is prob the best idea. let them keep playing until there is a winner.

i understand some ppl would argue that the nfl would not want a regular season game going potentially 6-7 quarters, but we all know that is extremely unlikely.

i do agree though, i have no problem with the new nfl ot rules. one of the only rules implemented under goodell that i actually like.

I don't think the new OT rule was put in place to reduce ties. it was to make it fair for the team that doesn't get the ball first, to not lose because they were able to stop the other team from scoring a TD, and just kicking the FG to win.

You've had four quarters to win the ball game. There is no reason to extend the it further than what it should as it only puts players at risk for injury after full exertion of an enervated 60 minutes. Bring back sudden death.

I don't understand why they don't just adopt the excellent college overtime rules and be done with it.

I think the worry is that would potentially make the game too long. Don't get me wrong, I love the college rules. But injuries are a big enough problem, especially with the ****mist TNF is raining down on the league. Those college overtimes can just get really long sometimes.

I like the new overtime rules, and don't think an occasional tie is the worst thing in the world. You will get maybe two a year.

I also don't like the college rules, which I find kind of gimicky.

The college rule is an abomination , the NFL rule is fair and a step forward
