I refuse to be idle and not speak up

Miami hasn't been to the Super Bowl in 29 years. They haven't won a playoff game in 13 years. The referees are not the problem.

I agree. In the grand scheme of things, the refs are not the problem. But in this one game, they WERE part of the problem. A BIG part, IMO. But, to be fair, we have NO killer instinct whatsoever.

Agreed, once calls start going against us, and obvious bad call were being made, seemed like some of the team was slowly shutting down.

A few missed calls yeah. But score a point, yes just A point in the second half and you might win the game. 17 points wasn't going to do it.

This is so true.

Brady's TD pass came after Carroll came in. Make a play defensively and nobody would be blaming the refs. Don't allow 6 sacks in the 2nd half and no one blames the refs. Don't turn the ball over 3 times and no one blames the refs.

What has to be taken into account is the timing and/or aftermath of the missed calls...

Exhibit A ( PI call on Wilson): Brady threw that intended pass to Gronk in triple coverage. Unless Gronk is Stretch Armstrong that ball thrown wasn't catchable by any means period. The end result they keep the drive going and score a FG (so much for a 1st half shutout)

Exhibit B (PI call on Patterson): The call in undeniable question came on a 3rd and long situation. Prior to that play unfolding the defense was holding there own but to no avail the flag is thrown even though Dobson slipped which I'm no rocket scientist but wouldn't that be considered incidental contact that SHOULD NOT result in a petty bailout? The end result the defense wears down and the momentum which was in our favor gradually shifts in favor of the Patriots.

Exhibit C ( the illegal batted ball by Vernon): I don't own nor have I seen an actual NFL rules handbook with my own eyes (I may need to invest into browsing inside of one or purchasing one if I'm able too). The end result instead of them punting to us they get an early Xmas gift and now get the ball on our 12 yard line which in turn leads to there go ahead TD.

I'm by no means letting our self-inflicted errors go undetected but that's for another thread not this one in particular.

The point is this: when momentum changing calls (missed, judgement) are made you can't tell me that it can't affect the players mentality and execution. If you've played A- or B+ grade worthy coverage for a good majority of the game and those kind of calls are made against you that self doubt or second guessing doesn't creep in and rear its ugly head.

Since Nate Solder has been in the NFL (blinders are off and I'm fresh outta Kool-Aid) against Wake 1-1 that he's been guilty of holding Wake 90-95% of the time ONLY FOR HIM NOT TO BE PENALIZED FOR IT. Tell me I'm wrong if I don't feel a certain type of anger or bewilderment from witnessing it time and time again only for Solder to getaway with it scott free and Wake can't buy a break if it fell out the sky.
