and he was glorious! its too bad he has the attitude of no one talking to our bothering him and you can tell!

but it was so awesome to finally see him out and about. i cant believe how big his kids are now.. for some reason i thought they were much younger. and his eldest son looks so much like him its eerie!

Very cool. I'm sure he gives the impression of not wanting to be bothered. He gets bothered so much that he is probably sick of it. Especially when he is with his family.
And yes, his oldest son looks like his clone.

I know his oldest son, the one giving the speech on sunday. Not to say we're friends or that I like him or anything, but I met him.

Fans have to understand that these players get bothered all the time. Their human just like us and at times want to be left alone. It doesn't mean their a-holes or anything, just human.

I met Dan Marino at the Celebrity Golf Tournament in Lake Tahoe a couple weeks ago. He was at Harrahs hangin with Big Ben Rothlesberger. When they got up from the table, I led the charge to him and asked him to sign my fins hat. He said he couldn't. After I kept walking and congratulated him on the Hall and then asked again for an auto, he said he couldn't because once he started it wouldn't quit. I continued through Harrahs and finally told him that I respect him not wanting to sign and could I at least shake his hand. He turned, smiled and shook my hand. (probably just glad to do anything to get rid of me!) Anyway, I can now say that I met Dan Marino and shook his hand. Sorry this is getting long, but the greatest part of the whole thing is that I continued with Dan and Ben (and 3 security type guys), in through the VIP line to a club. they waved me in thinking I was with those guys. Pretty cool!

wow i hope this wasnt directed @ me cause i didnt mean my post in that way. i just meant that its pretty well known around my town that if you see him, its the protocol to not bother him. and ive heard nothing but stories about the same thing.

personally, i wouldnt have gone up to him anyway. only instance would be if he were alone and there wasnt anyone else around.

however, the nfl is a business just like anything and sure people get into cause they love football. but is ronnie brown holding out cause he loves football? no hes holding out cause he wants the fortune, too. and the fame goes right along with that. cant have one without the other.

I heard she keeps him on a very short lease, and the only thing that comes out of his mouth in her presence is "Yes dear".

No, it wasn't directed at you. Sorry if it came across that way. Sometimes we as fans see a player on a bad day and we tend to think he/she is a a-hole. Dan Marino's blood is red just like all of ours, he's just another human being like us, except that his job was being a QB for the Dolphins.

he was very nice and cordial to those around him, and the chef and owner of the place were very good to him, too. all i meant was you could tell there was like a little bubble around him.

he sure was glorious though!

"I'm thankful for every fan that I get, but I can't take a sh*t in the bathroom without someone standing by it, no I won't sign your autograph, you can call me an a**hole, I'm glad... cuz I am whatever you say I am..."
