So I got a chance to see every play of the Jets and Chiefs game with the shortcuts thing offered free this week by DirectTV, and I have to say its amazing to see a game like that!

Anyways, the unfortunate thing was that the Jets looked just fine. How can they have considering they were destroyed?

Turnovers.

Some observations:

- They moved the ball well, when Chad wasnt fumbling. There were some good passes by Chad for 10+ yards and first downs. Most of his passes had more than enough velocity on it. And every time they ran a delayed handoff, Curtis picked up 5+ yards. They executed it well about four or five times.

- They got into the red zone while the game was competitve.

- Their receivers dropped many catchable balls. At one point, down 17 I think, Chad threw thre consecutive passes, two that would have been TD's from the Chiefs thirty. Even when they went for it on fourth down, Chad threw a catchable ball, but it was dropped. One of the passes even had the WR wide open at the five, but it was dropped!

- The Chiefs secondary wasnt as impressive as a near shutout made it seem. Like I said, the Jets made plays through the air, but too many time they hurt themselves with drops, fumbles, etc.

Plainly put, if you take away the ridiculous amount of fumbles, the Jets are still the formidable Jets this rivalry has always kknown. Dont expect no cakewalk this Sunday. On the other hand, Miami 30 Jets 10 :D .

Also, I saw Jay's drive. LOL. Ah Jay, I love the guy for his efforts here, but it was classic Jay. On one drive he fumbled the ball, had a near pick TWICE, had a tipped ball, had one completion come off a lucky tip into the air to the non-intended receiver, locked onto his receiver, and at one point threw into triple coverage. And then of course he'd throw a pass here or there with some touch and nice velocity.

Same ol' Jay.

i watched the entire game here in NJ.... they were horrible all over. they didn't do anything right.

Spot on.

Well, I consider that to be good news, because if they can't even execute against what is now apparently(based on this your analysis) an average Defense, then ours is gonna cause them all kinds of problems.

I dunno what game you were watching. Here in Vegas we got Jets/Chiefs and the Jets were stinkin up the place.

Regarding Fiedler: He damn near got picked off (that would have been returned for 6) but the defender froze. I think he also fumbled once himself (but recovered).

If our offense shows up next week like this did against the Broncos then we'll win. I may bet the moneyline on Miami.

Its a differnt experience watching the game play after play, no commercials, no walking back to the huddle, etc. As soon as the whistle blows at the end of a play it cuts to the snap of the next play. It really shows the flow or execution of a team, the momentum of their offense. Watching it like this, the Jets mades some plays and moved the ball. I imagine if you watched this game over a three hour span, their is no doubt the sense that the Jets were awful would be very prevalent.

Anyway, just my analysis, I'm no expert, but the Jets can be solid this Sunday by just executing the simple stuff as in catching the ball when its placed in your hands and NOT FUMBLING.

Although I still think Herm will be outcoached this Sunday for a close Miami win.

i watched this game from the bar while watching the fins game as well.

the jets were horrible.

the jets were horrible.

So I took a second look. Consider this:

- The Jets got past the fifty and into enemy territory seven times out of ten drives. The other three drives were hindered by three fumbles, one in each drive. Two were recovered and lead to punts. One wasnt recovered and lead to a quick KC TD.

- The Jets got into the red zone three times, and walked away with 0 points.

- Chad was 21 of 34 and spread the ball around.

- I counted six dropped balls, three were perfect passes for a TD.

- Chad had more than enough velocity on his ball. It's not as if he's ever ben a gunslinger type.

- Surtain is awesome!

Where the Jets struggled immensely was in their running game. On the other side their D stiffened againast the run in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, but was susceptible to quick throws and the short passing game throughout.

I think we will win Sunday because of the new schemes and intensity we will bring. But the Jets are not as bad as they looked on Sunday, but their not a playof team either if they cant get it together fast. The Broncos were bad, that is bad, not throwing a complete pass until the second quarter, and going 1 for 11 on third downs or something like that for most of the game. That is bad. The Jets just need to focus, protect the ball, and regroup.

I only pound on this because I hate for us to become those Bronco fans last week yelling "bye week" going up against us. The Jets can be a challenge this weekend.

the jets are fine

Mod Edit: First warning. Don't try to turn another on topic thread into smack. He was just voicing an opinion. There is a smack forum if you feel like bashing our rivals - not here. nj

IMO I thought the Jets played poorly... but at the same time if the caught a few passes they dropped they would've scored a few more points at least...
Their passing game will certainly test our defense..
They have much better receivers than Denver!

This is how I've recorded and/or edited my Phins games the last 5 years.

I think Saban will have this team looking at things the way the general sentiment of this thread has. Saban will make this team realize that the KC game could have been a lot closer and that all the breaks won't go against the Jets next week. They'll watch the film and see it for themselves.

Good thread. We cannot EVER overlook the Jets. Period.
