I just want to get an idea of how many of you actually think he's gonna be your starter...

i think they're fitting him for the gold jacket already! why did you give us another berlin thread? why did i answer it? why didn't i answer the poll question? what if i think he could play in a few years?

No way he's gunna be our starter. We don't even know if he'd be a good #2 yet. He's shown some flashes...against some garbage. But at least he's showing a quick release and at least a little accuracy. I hope he does something, but I'm not counting on it. Not like we spent a draft pick on him anyway.

Because I read all this "BB will be the starter"s stuff and wonder if thats actually a popular opinion...

The guy was bad in college, and i don't think i'd want him on my team, but who knows?

He has talent but his size is a factor. That is why Saban wanted him for LSU. He has the raw capability but needs to be coached more and maybe could fit into an offense schemed around his capabilities.

i don't think it's popular opinion. nobody has played all that great, so the gus people aren't saying much. and the feeley people aren't saying much because he hasn't played well so far in the games. i don't really care, i just want the team to win. i don't think the team's fortunes hinge on whether berlin is #3 or on the PS, but that's just me. i think a lot of it has to do with people wanting instant gratification WRT getting rid of feeley.

and as noted by an astute poster on another thread, if the team had drafted brees over fletcher, he would have been run out of town just before his breakout season.

i don't think this sense of impatience and berlin are compatible. if berlin is going to be on this team, the fans will have to be patient with his mistakes for a long time until he overcomes them. i don't see that happening.

It is the typical grass is greener thing going on.

They say "No one is more popular than the back up quarterback when the first string in struggling". The same can be said for the fourth string rookie who is playing well against scrubs.

Yeah, the same year that you get Bledsoe back...

Well said.

i dont think he is 16 game starting calibre, but he could develop into a solid and dependable backup..

The only way Brock Berlin will be an effective starting QB is if he gets to play against Chris Rix and/or the UF defense on a week to week basis.

he has NFL talent but time will tell whether or not he can start or not

At this point Im ready to put Wes Welker at QB and just run the wishbone. I had faith in A.J. but is not looking good by any stretch of the imagination. Plus he is a constant reminder of the Wanny era. Ferrotte is a career backup and he hasnt looked a whole lot better. Sage and Brock are playing in garbage time but at least they are playing with some pride and putting up numbers.

I would take any of our QBs over JP Losman. Best case scenario, hes as good as the last QB to put up numbers at Tulane, Shawn King. :rofl3:

And whoever said that stuff about hoping players get career ending injuries...thats just pathetic. And to say that about Roscoe, a local guy from Miami High and the U, that makes me want to revoke your Dol-fan status.
