Positives

- Xavien Howard/Cordrea Tankersley: The Ravens dropped back to pass 23 times and only had 3 completions to wr's(all to Maclin). Granted They only really tested us twice, one of which being the pass Mccain got roasted on early in the game, and the other a bomb to Perriman where Cordrea was step for step with him and was able to break up the pass. Even though the Ravens were content to stuffing the ball down our throats with the run game, a dink and dunk their way down the field to RB's and TE's from what I saw X and Cordrea had tight coverage all game long and there were instances where the QB's looked downfield and checked it down due to good coverage. I would have liked better run support on the edges but that's really nit picking to blame getting gashed on the ground on your CB's.

- Reshad Jones: I saw another post on the board that said Jones had a terrible game, well I just didn't see that. Jones was all over the field and played cleanup the entire game due to the front 7 not doing jack ****.

- Leonte Caroo: Yea I said it... Caroo was a positive in this game! While unspectacular he looked like an NFL WR out there. Ran a few good routes to get open, had a play where he was covered and continued working as he came back towards the QB to give him a good window to throw the ball in. I'm not really sure what the negatives are on him as to why he never gets any PT but he seems in my eyes to be a capable NFL WR.

- Kenny Stills: Kenny was our best player on offense for the day. We're really making Kenny into something he's not which is a possession WR by throwing jump balls at him and asking him to win those matchups but guess what he's getting it done. He had at least 2 catches last night where he was draped and came up with the tough catch. Kenny has also been able to get open deep a lot this season but no QB on the active roster has been able to take advantage of that. Stills could be a very dangerous weapon in the right scheme and with a capable QB which he has neither on his side.

- Suh Defending Alanso: Say what you want about the hit. Personally I understand the penalty and wasn't upset that it was called, nor was I upset at Alanso for the hit. What I was pretty pissed off about though was the fact that afterwards a Ravens player all out attacked Alanso, even ripping off his helmet and no flag was called on him??? I mean this was a blatant after the whistle mugging and all of a sudden the refs became blind wtf. Anyway, Suh coming to Alanso's rescue and basically man handling that dude was nice to see. He went overboard later in the game by trying to choke Mallet though.

Negatives

The Entire Front 7: Allowed 174 rush yards, DT's rushed up field and over pursued time and time again. DE's got sealed inside over and over. LB's misread plays, over pursued, had bad gap assignment etc. and to top it all off couldn't cover TE's or RB's. There were a couple of nice plays by Timmons and Kiko, but overall the entire front 7 sucked. Harris did have a couple of pressures but the Ravens were getting rid of the ball so fast with screens, flats, checkdowns etc that the pass rush really had no shot.

The Entire Offensive Line: I don't really even know what to say here I mean we all saw the same thing and it was just bad. I will say this though, the OL is not being helped in anyway shape or form by the coaching staff or QB's. The announcers called it over and over that the protection calls come from the QB and the calls were either bad or non existent. Coaching... well that has been nearly non existent also(more on that in a bit) but my god people... would it kill us to call some designed roll outs, to use a little tempo to keep the defense off balanced, or hell... not call plays that the defense Knows we are going to run? Nobody seems to mention these facts but the predictability affects the OL also.

Matt Moore: In a lot of ways we saw last night why Moore has been a backup QB his entire career. Didn't make the line calls correctly or not at all, missed open WR's, didn't see open WR's, just inaccurate all day long. In my last recap I lobbied hard for Moore over Cutler, and I am not wavering from that because I still think he gives us a better shot than Cutler but Moore is what he is and this team was pretty much doomed the second Tannehill went out with that injury.

Adam Gase: Where do I begin... I've been all aboard the Gase wagon from day 1 but it's getting harder and harder every week to stay on that ride, in fact he's making me willing to jump out of the moving vehicle regardless of how fast it's moving. The play calling has been atrocious, and anyone that tries to argue otherwise simply has not been watching the games. Some might say that the horrid QB play is limiting what Gase can do, and that's a valid point to a degree but when you become so predictable that every Dolphins fan on the planet can call out plays pre snap there is just no excuse for the person calling those plays. I could go on and on about this and planned to break it down but then Gase himself made the comment that he's simplified the offense so much that its easier for the defense to decipher and I just sort of threw my hands up and said F it. So here we have it folks... a head coach who also happens to be the one calling plays for our beloved Miami Dolphins openly admitting that he is knowingly making the job easy for opposing defenses, and the sad part is there is no indication whatsoever that this is going to change.

Officiating: Let me preface this by saying that the officiating in no way shape or form was a factor in the outcome of this game as the Ravens whipped our butts all night long in every way but the officiating still sucked. I saw some blatant holds that weren't called, 2 obvious face masks, Kiko getting straight mugged after the Flacco hit, and a couple of late hits by the Ravens that were never called. I'm not really one to complain about the refs as I think it all evens out eventually but in this game it was absolutely appalling.

Overall: I stand by my statement last week about this being a gritty team that will fight until the end and be in a lot of games. The problems are glaring however and with a head coach openly admitting what he's doing wrong and showing an unwillingness to change the outlook is very bleak. Some of you may know that a friend of mine played in the NFL, he goes to every home game and I always talk to him when I can about the games so I asked him about Gase and he said the following. "You better believe there are players in that locker room that are beyond frustrated with the play calls. If you're Jarvis or Kenny you cringe every time you hear a run called on 2nd or 3rd and long and eventually you become disinterested." He also said that as players you just want a shot to make a play and Gase is taking that away by continuously banging his head into a wall.

We got out coached most importantly, that always happens when we go against John Harbaugh. The best coach in Baltimore last night probably wasn't even Harbaugh either, because Dean Pees is so great at his job as well. As much as we were outcoached though, you have to take into consideration the experience difference between the two coaching staffs, it's night and day. I still believe in Gase, but he clearly has a long ways to go.

Gave ya a like bro because you put more effort into that post than I saw out of the Fins players and staff last night.

Gase has been figured out by all our opponents and his scheme is too easy to defend. Any scheme that requires a perfect QB to run is bullshit. I'm sorry but....no im not sorry. Bullshit coaching is the ****ing problem with this team from top to bottom.

The team came out flat, and before they could muster anything the Bolts handed us our butts and then used the hit on Flacco for motivation. You have these types of games and over quite a few years the Dolphins have always struggled when playing the AFC north those teams play much more physical ball. Moving on the Bolts did what the Jets did our first meeting had their defense sit heavily on Jay and Laundry. Those 2 players set our tone. The playbook is expanding as now you are seeing Fasano and Carroo catch some balls but until last week it was Jay, Laundry and Parker somewhat along with Thomas. We just need 2 more to step up and Stills is close and now maybe Fasano. The offensive line is snakebit and the coaching is the issue back in the Shula years is was never a issue and we had a bunch of misfits at that position. The Oline needs to play nasty IMO

are they too stupid to learn or is Gase too stupid to teach?
this team is $%&%ing stupid I guess. I'm also stupid for watching

They have guys that don't want to listen to coaching. We have one guy that didn't even show up for a game. Ha ha

The tackling of the team has been much improved this year. Last night the tackling was poor. Granted when the offense looks it might struggle to score if there was no D on the field, it's not your biggest issue. However, I raise it as it was a big step back for the D I thought.

I would have been tempted to tell McCain to find a flight home on his own on the sideline after the one 3rd and long sweep where he put his hands out to play patty cake with the RB, who ran through him for a first...

Damn, dude! Major props for being able to watch that crap again!

About Tankersley and Howard, they switched sides last night. Tank played RCB and Howard played LCB. If I'm not mistaken, it's both their natural positions. Those were the positions they played the most in College. Last night was a possible glimpse into the future if Miami's young CB's. As for Carroo, he just needs a chance. More reps and I think you'll see a better player than he's currently perceived to be.

According to Gase's presser they are too lazy to want to learn and be better. So in a way too stupid to even run the basic offensive assignments. It sounded like if we had any decent replacements available Gase would have cut half of the offensive starters already.

Overall. Sign Tebow to keep the stadium full

Positives- the game ended!!

It's Alonso. The guy puts out a QB, makes the headlines, divides NFL fans opinions and ppl still can't spell his name. Hehe.
