While I fully support DC (bought his jersey already), he just is NOT ready to be out there, physically. He has made an amazing come back, but his legs just are not there yet, and it has really shown. Now I know the O-line has been nothing short of crap, and that isn't DC's fault. Buit when he has had time, he's looked bad. Period. I think that if DC is not doing well against Tennessee, Joey deserves a chance. Not as a full time starter though, just until DC has fully rehabbed that knee of his and can kick some ***. Basically, while Daunte claims he is ready to play, you can tell by watching him that something is bothering him.

Wow, you still have Wanny as your avatar?

Even if his legs aren't ready, he is still more mobile than Harrington!! His arm is there, we just need to get his head right and we will be OK!!!

I really think it unlikely that the issue is physical. It's a mental issue. Culpepper doesn't trust his knee, and he won't be able to do well until he does. The trick is whether he'll gain trust faster by playing or sitting. It's hard to know. Sitting him might give him the motivation to push himself in practice. Allowing him to play might expose the knee to the type of stress that will help him gain confidence in it.

Dante and his mobility...during training camp Dante was off limits to defenders as far as tackling and contact was concerned. I remember reading an article that Dante had said that some of the plays that had been called dead because of defenders having him in grasp, were actually plays that he could have escaped from the defender and not been tackled by that player had it been full speed and full contact. Well Sunday Dante got a dose of what his full speed is, when he was run down from behind and sacked by one of the big DTs. That is something that you would not see much out of the old Dante, and I think it is much better for him to play than sit the bench. First of all, he is going to start seeing his limitations mobility wise and learning to adjust by throwing the ball away more, etc. The coaches will also have to change the playcalling to allow more quick passes, that even the slowest qbs would be able to get rid of the ball before a defender touches them. It will just take some time to make the adjustments and Dante needs to be more of a pocket passer than scrambler. You can tell he has happy feet in the pocket, and even when he had time to throw the ball, he looked hesitant and uncomfortable. It would be like taping Micheal Vicks feet together and making him play QB that way. It just would not work, he would break his own legs trying to scramble around the pocket the first time he saw a defender.

Look at the last 17 games hes played. He hasnt played well at all. You can make all the excuses you want but the guy has been horrible his last 17 games. His last two games hes been pretty bad. Sorry.

Hopefully Saban can work with him and surround him with enough talent that he can be successful again.

To me i see it as an issue of just being able to get his mind back into it and have the confidence in hjis knee and step into his throws rather than any physical problem keeping him from doing any of that. I think in time when we get things rolling whether it be a defensive big play or a big run or a home run throw we still havent had that high energy play we as a whole will play with a lot of confidence once that does happen and ill bet a lot of the "problems"fix them selves at that point

He might be more mobile, but he just plain sucks right now. He looked horrible for six or so games last year, he looked horrible for four preseason games, and he's looked pathetic in two regular season starts. The guy is overrated and doesn't deserve to be the starter, there is no way he beat out Frerotte or Harrington.

GO PHINS~!
