Gus has been way inconsistent especially with the big plays. We know what we have in A.J and obviously now we're seeing Gus but who know what the Fins have in Sage if he is giving an extensive look.

as much as i root for sage, he isnt any better

if gus tosses 5 picks, we may see sage. by then, it will be too late anyway

Why, Why, Why, Why is there another Sage thread?:shakeno: Don't you think the coaches have seen enough of Sage to know what the previous two regimes in Miami and Washington already knew? HE"S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!

Here's a novel friggin idea. Maybe Gus hasn't looked good enough for you people because we've played 4 great defenses. Denver, Carolina, Jets and Buffalo (great secondary). Gus isn't a HOFer or long term answer, but he's a HELLUVA lot better than AJ or Sage. Get over it.

At 0-4, maybe. This isn't desperate... The Dolphins are up and coming right now. I think Saban is still getting some kinks out of coaching in his first NFL games. What I saw sunday in the loss was someone a little too conservative in the fist half, but WOW, am I impressed with the half-time adjustments... We'll be alright with Gus for this season. Sage is a worthy backup for now, let's keep him the same... You just can't throw in the towel this early after 1 'real bad' start... The Bills still have a pretty good secondary and it was an away-division game.

Anyways, I'm confident, even in the loss... Saban is showing me alot, especially in the second half of games...

Gus has made his share of mistakes, but Gus is not the problem and definately has not lost his job to Sage. This team has been in position to win every game in the end. It has not been ALL Gus. IMO Sage will get a shot sometime this season, but until Gus totally blows it on a consistant basis, he should remain the starter.

Gus is doing ok with us! Now I am suprised not many people are questioning his pick in the endzone last week. He is playing smart IMO but he does need to get the ball in there not off 10 yrds eachway. Sage deserves a shot somewhere along the line but I hope its in a 34-3 situation, or if we crap out and the season has no chance for playoffs.

We are rebuilding and doing it in away that makes sense so I'm happy!

Actually I do think he's the problem on offense. I cant think of anyone on offense who's playing poorer. Granted the whole team screwed the pooch by amassing all those penalties, but we've improved enough everywhere on offense where at this moment he is our weak link. Having said that, I agree with you that he hasnt been bad consistently enough to bench him yet. He consistently has one very good quarter, one halfway decent one and two putrid ones. I would simply let him play and if we find ourselves at some point this season 2 games under .500 then we need to start thinking about 2006 and that would be the point where i would want sage to be put in

I think Chambers has declined. Relax...I think Chambers is obviously better at his position than Gus, but I think Chambers has made way too many mistakes. Is he the problem on offense? No. I think stupid mistakes are. Eliminate the majority of mistakes and this team would be fine.

Yeah I agree that he's failing to grab that title of elite receiver. He just doesnt fight enough. Conversely, he is getting open on a consistent basis but Gus is failing to get him the ball in a spot where he can do something with it. He is always forced to stop and adjust to Gus's off target throws. Chambers is an elite athelete but just a good receiver.

The chances of Gus playing the entire season without a single injury or anything is low. Sage will get at least a few series, if not a few games.

We keep looking for the ghost of Marino to show up in the form of a castaway qb. Gus is to inconsistent to get us very far in the playoffs and may very well not get us there at all. The problem is he is our best qb and that is very sad. This team has been ranshackled by wannstupe. It won't be fixed in one year. Saban brought in the old used car that leaks a little oil and hopes it will last one maybe two years. The problem is finding a young qb that will be able to play immediately. Like a rothlesberger or manning maybe rivers. Those guys are hard to find and expensive. Sage could get some mop up or if gus goes down to injury. The bottom line is it won't matter imo. We simply don't have a nfl qb on the team. You need a star at qb. It is plain and simple and until you are smart enough to go and get one be prepared for 8-8 seasons.

No but you don't necessarily need to be losing alot of games before you pull the trigger and switch. And I don't think Gus needs to be injured to see Sage. But if he is still having bad games a switch should be made. if anything to shake things up a bit.

Its all about winning or losing. If we are 3-7 then its time to bench Gus but if we stay around .500 and have a shot at the playoffs we are stuck going with Gus. Id love to have a better Qb, Gus is a backup Qb playing a starting Qb in real life but we are stuck with him and thats the way it is.
