I have listened to saban's press confrences and his talk about the "next play"
and not to worry about the score of the game or your record. so today during the game we were down 23-3 and i was saying ahh were done and i was wathcing saban and the players and thats what they were doing they never gave up even after all the fans left, and the false starts they just played hard no matter what the score, a wanny coached team would have folded after the safety. saban is looking for guys who can respond to adversity, this team is slowly taking saban's attitude. no matter what the score of the game or our record this team will play the same, that attitude will help us in the long run when we are winning and have a good record like 11-2 we will not get ****y and get caught in a trap game. so the score does matter but only the final score, so just play hard every play and the score will take care of its self. saban is a great mental coach he is teaching this team how to deal with bad situations so when bad things happen it will be second nature to respond and move on. you will see alot of comeback wins in the next few years. saban is a good coach and we have a bright future trust me!

the good thing with this type of win is that its a perfect real world example of what he was talking about.

exactly. if you cant buy into saban after today, you should never step foot on the field again

The summarized version of my take on Saban is that he is basically saying whether you are winning or losing, in 1st place or in last, it should have no effect whatsoever on how you approach the next play.

The next play is all that matters. Take care of that and the results won't matter... (and this is the part the media either missed or left out) because they will always be in your favor.

I have actually been using this approach for a little while now with my staff, because I have a lot of new and part-time people. The Process First way of coaching works, and let me tell you, at the end of the day, it makes for a lot less "work" for me.

Saban's cool.

EDIT: 1200th Post... yipee!!!

Ive been a Saban supporter from day 1, never once felt thsi team was headed anywhere but up with him leading us and today only reaffirmed what I knew already. Its going to take more time than some of you want but Nick is the right guy to take this team back to the top.

Saban is the best thing that happened to this organization in a long time... Like Ive said numerous times, I can't wait till the offseason to see what he'll do with this team. IMO he had a great draft for this team, signed some key free agents, and has a great group of coahes surrounding him (although throwing the ball on the goalline suprises me, but hey, it worked)

Im not trying to steal your thread or anything... but do you think that if we didn't draft Ronnie Brown, that we'd have the somewhat-success we have had this year?
